I experienced something that was worth noting during a daily race on Saturday afternoon. I was set to cross the line for a win and the third place guy cuts from the inside and bumped me over the finish line, I got a 2 second penalty at the line and moved back to second place.

Actually. VR does a really good job. Its the one thing that is going to make getting back into console racing hard for me. A friend let me have his Rift when his graphics card nearly burnt down his house. I've been racing pCars and AC exclusively on it, and it is surprisingly immersive. Having to press buttons to look around, and not having that depth perception is going to be rough.
I tried Dirt in VR and I had to work my way up to more wheel time as the level of immersive reactions and environmnet were all to real. I've never had an issue with motion sickness in my life and that game made me a little dizzy at first.

Is there a way to watch the replay from the POV of the car instead of the default various camera locations?

Yes there is, it is the same button you use to switch camera views when driving.

What button is that? I feel so dumb...

I don't remember the default button and it varies between wheel and controller. You can just check under options and controller settings in game. That will pull up the map for your controller.

Yep had that happen already

Yeah, Dirt got me too, and some finland stages still can leave me needing a little break.

Edit: @ScorpionTopaz I won't be playing GT Sport until either on Christmas night or the day after but i wanted to ask did you do all of the driving licenses, mission challenges and circuit experiences or just both driving licenses and circuit experience before you went and did the Time Trial?
I started the Driving Schcool and halfway through got bored and told myself "I know all this crap already". So I went to Mission Challenge as those are slightly more entertaining. The whole thing should take 2-3 hours I think but it was getting late on Saturday and I wanted to get a TT in for JLBowler. I stopped there and went to the TT, using my ghost to help find where I'm losing time. Haven't touched Circuit Experience yet.

You've fallen to the Dark Side my friend. You'll forever be searching for physics that don't exist. There's literally no indication of when the back end is going to give out. I watched Rednose's stream, and watched him go sideways with no warning (last lap in the Ferrari 1:06.05) - and it wasn't recoverable - at all- he tried. I thought, "that wouldn't have happened in that other game". I'm still trying to get on board with this game, but there just isn't a feeling of what the car is doing, and how the weight is shifting from front to back. (to me, in my opinion, of course).
It's a damn shame really, but I have to put up with it in order to race in SNAIL and build my reputation back up.

GTSport is a fantastic game, and I really don't mean to bash it, even though my post kinda did. It's just too hard for me to go back and forth, AND be competitive with these guys. I can have a ball in the carreer/offline mode, but once I'm competing with guys that know the game well... I'm just a pace car. I still haven't really committed to trying yet though. There's still time. Oh, and if there's a D8, I'm back in a heartbeat! D8 is Gr8!

It's weird but if you can adjust and get used to it it's not so bad. Last night was my first time playing GTSport seriously so the learning curve was steep. By the end of each combo I was learning where I can go flat out through turns, when it's okay to floor it in 2nd, and so on.

There are cues there as to what the car is about to do. They are not all conveyed through the wheel. Some of them are audio cues and some are visual cues. You have to be aware of the entire package to get all of the information as all of the cues work together to try and simulate what you can't feel in the seat.

I have actually found myself to be a little bit quicker with the headset off and being able to listen to my surround sound.

In GTSport, what can I do to the FFB settings to make it easier to feel when I'm about to lose the rear end as well as when tires are at the point of grip that the car goes straight on? If I can get a feel for those things as they start to happen I can better manage my steering input and keep the car straight(ish).
I use the T300RS and I have my FFB set to 9 for sensitivity and 1 or 2 for force. This seems to work OK, but not as well as Assetto Corsa on PC (once the myriad settings for FFB are set correctly for the particular wheel). To me, if the settings are set too high, you will experience clipping--meaning the wheel cannot actually convey all the information the system wants to.

That said, after talking to some of the other guys in D1 last night, they have their settings much higher (like 8/10). And their pace is generally much more than mine. So I think it's something you just have to work with until you're at a point where you're feeling what you need to feel.
I am wondering some of the same things. The tail end seems pretty responsive with the throttle (sometimes too responsive, but I think that is just the G29 talking) but I still feel the understeer is a little vague. From what I gather at this point, it isn't so much a FFB setting as it is to poor driving physics... I ran GT6 on a DFGT and it had more steering feedback. We may have to just wait uto PD sorts things out.
IDK if this is the case with all wheels and pedal setups, but I use the G27 pedals with my T300 and the throttle input is not linear. The pedal will be pushed in ~3/4 but that results in only half throttle in the actual game. So the top half of throttle in-game is controlled by just about 1/4 of the pedal's actual throw, which doesn't make it very easy. I hope PD addresses this.

I have the G29 and I believe it's strength is comparable to the T300RS even though it's gear and not belt. I'll try your settings and then the higher one like you said others use. Are they keeping both sensitivity and force high or sensitivity default/low and force up at 8/10?

GTS is just different. I have my G29 set between 1 and 3 on FFB, and 8 or 9 on sensitivity. GTS just doesn't communicate like PCars does. I can save a slide (or even long power slides) in GTS much better than I could in PCars. The wheel is just more numb in my hands than PCars. The lack of feel somehow makes it easier to save a slide (or initiate one).

But I am faster in PCars because I can feel and hear more detail than GTS.

GTS brakes are harder to modulate...seems like they are either on or off (slight exaggeration).

I find myself steering more with the throttle in GTS because the slides are easier to control.

PCars physics/sounds are just head and shoulders above GTS.

I don't know...GTS and any other racing game is more about racing people you know. We're all in the same boat...I just like the close racing...when I am not crashing and actually racing someone that is.

Yea, like I said it was my first time racing seriously, plus I just got the game on Thursday. A lot of you guys got it at release or at least sooner than me.

Perhaps the biggest pet peeve of mine for GTS... I run absolutely no assists in pcars2 but it’s damn near impossible to modulate brake pressure without locking up in GTS, so I’m forced to run ABS to be quick
Same. PCars has a way of communicating locked brakes along with fantastic brake linearity throughout the travel of the brake pedal. The wheel communicated a locked wheel with such perfection that it makes me want to go get PC2 right now...but I have to save money for my kids presents ;)

Well with missing yet another week of racing due to connection problems giving me a ping-pong effect with Rednose, I'm off to Comcast today to raise hell and get one of their routers in hopes of it working better than my own.

We had an interesting problem last night, if he left and came back he could see me but I couldn't see him and vice versa.

I don't remember anyone having connection issues with Rednose last night in D2? We had a smooth night all around. Are you sure you meant Rednose?

Good luck Mike. I know you've been having issues for awhile now, I hope they finally get it fixed.

I'd love to know what you set your wheel at in PCars. In PCars, I generally also like to run a higher sensitivity than Force, but often, they end up around the same when I start tweaking them while driving.

Oh, and I'm kind of sorry, but until you've had the ability to adjust Force and Sensitivity on the fly, you'll never know what you're missing. Hopefully GTSport realizes what a game changer this is. It's friggin' amazeballz!

Oh, my... Both @Raw10_2u and myself typed messages to him and he never replied. Was ready to start qualifying, so I booted him. Booted him twice. He came back during the race and typed out a big rant then left.

So many Degrees,so little intelligence. We were more than nice to this person. We asked this person to leave politely after we announced who we were and what we were doing and where to go if they were interested in joining. There were more than a few that came and went within the same time frame,a couple were glad to be offered the info to join and left peaceably, this person was adamant that they could stay because the room was set to public.Apparently had no understanding that we have no choice in the matter. @JamCar0ne gave this person every opportunity to leave without incident, the antagonist would have nothing of it.To bad we cant just block these types.
