So, I guess the SS Challenge is finished because of me, huh? I know that's not what you're saying, but in a strange sort of way, it IS my fault it didn't work out. Oh well, I'll just my two wins and run with it.
Nonononono RO86... You were justanazing there. The problem was that the other cars couldn't keep up eith the macs and fords so it was a little unfair.

Wait, what???

Dude, I think you may have a complex.

The SS challenges that I was in had poor car balance in them. How is that your fault? It's a more complex game than people give it credit for sometimes.

The SS challenge is fine as long as the requirements are set up to allow for balance.

This is how the game is balanced now - Weight, Power, and other factors such as grip, aero, etc, which all end up wrapped in the PP systems. This is why PP alone is broken and why power and weight on their own is broken.

For instance, the PP challenge at Monza, we all the same power and weight, but the cars were far from even because of grip and aerodynamics. Some cars needed to be either lighter, or more powerful to compensate.

Ideally, the limits would be minimum weight, max power, max PP, AND a power to weight number (but the game doesn't limit that). What could be done to compensate is to set the min weight, max power, and max PP (so necessary) and have a smaller cross section of cars. The selection should be so that it's a battle between one extreme over the other, and then have a three track showdown. Track 1 favours one type of car, track 2 favours the other, track 3 is equal ground.

For instance, instead of a Z06, MP4, Italia, etc - you do something like Corvette vs R8. Then you pick a highspeed track, an acceleration track, and then something balanced. Just riffing off the top of my head, something like Midfield/Ascari/Red Bull

Anyway, my point is this (as it was during the SS challenges) you have to have a PP limit in place to even the field. Even 2 PP makes a significant difference in lap times, especially over race distance.

Yeah, but who has time to do all that testing voodoo

but i agree with you completely. It's why it's so hard to have a good GT3 race in gt6. you can't just grab the cars and go because they are not even close to being equal despite all being the same class of car.

I have wasted hours and hours trying to balance some of these car classes to build a good series, and it never works completely. I always end up giving up  :banghead::irked:

I like to keep things simple.

Sounds good Psycho! I can't make it at all this entire weekend, real life racing coming into my life :(

alright guys, my work boxes finally returned from japan, in which i had my touring car series stuff in i was brainstorming with. I put together a few algorithms and came up with this for starters. i haven't even checked to see if some of the weights or hp's are possible. part of the deal is FWD are faster in a straight line, mid engines are slower but lightest and RWD are about average everywhere. if anyone wants to do testing, feel free. i literally have no idea how this would turn out. i figure with a few adjustments it would be a fun series, and something different than the other ones out there. Also, the Race Director would check before the race, the HP, WT of the cars. and in replay mode check to see that ppl aren't turbo'd who shouldn't be. i'm thinking, anyone who leaves during the 'check time' receive a penalty or something

So it's power to weight?

sort of, there a little more to it. problem is i can't regulate torque. so i had to come up with kind of guesses. maybe it will work, maybe it won't. i need to test, but it's a pain with bad pedals (still waiting on parts). i'm hoping after tonights races, maybe a few would like to play around with this. i would like to save some replays and look at some data to see how close they are. namely speed at end of straights and corner speed.

Sure, remember we are free tomorrow night. :D

Hehehehe thanks Dolph!! :D (Autocorrect just said 'Adolf'... :ill: Well, DTM is German.)

Anyways, congrats to the winners from last night. It just wasn't my night I suppose . I simply couldn't channel my inner Turtle. At Brands I went wide on lap one after tying for the pole. Thankfully, everyone avoided me.

On to Suzuka, where I was in the lead and on lap 2 had nowhere to go but in the grass. That race was over, and I got beat by Parrilla in a GT300 :boggled: .

At Tokyo, I was once again in the lead. But, as soon as I caught the GT300s, the lag began and everyone started meat-balling on my screen. I ghosted as to not cause problems, but eventually caused problems when I took it too deep into turn 1 and hit Dolph, ghosted, unghosted, got hit by Psycho, and fell to 7th. Again.

In total, great racing from all. It was still fun even if I had a lot of :banghead: moments. :P

Sorry about that hit GTRacer22, I was looking for the 200 meter sign and found the 100 meter sign. :ouch: It was an incredible night of racing!

No problem, it was my fault, I went too deep into turn 1 and unghosted right before you came through and I was in the way.

Remember the 3-wide with Parrilla you and I in turn 3? That was awesome. :D

Yes, that was awesome! I can't wait to see the replays. Multi-Class racing is everything I hoped it would be. The reverse grid starts are very smooth now as well. It was a great night of racing.
