What is the best transmission setup for the fastest speeds with a BMW M3? I have every "non-hp" adding part, which means i have the best of clutches, gears, etc... Also what is the best suspension and braking for the best cornering??? I have searched on this forum and couldnt find anything on the REGULAR bmw m3.

SOME ONE PLEASE HELP!!

You can find out easily. Go to the test course and try a few settings, shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

As for suspension just use the "racing" model or "full customize."

Come on man some of these answers are just common sense!

Not sure about that, many people just use automatic setting for gearing, which is ofcourse not the fastest.
@///KRIS, try using short gear. Make the first gear speed same as slowest corner speed at max hp rpm, make last gear speed same as reachable track top speed above max hp rpm.

Use the full customize suspension and set the ride height to lowest value to reduce drag and increase u'r acceleration and make sure that u stiffin u'r springs or u'll bottom out.:nervous:

Hi ///KRIS

Your question depends on what you are trying to achieve, for top speed you would want to run with a higher ride height I think and play around with the individual gear ratios and final drive settings for best top speed, there is also the "Tranny trick", I have taken this from Scaff's tuning guide:

Scaff
You start by adjusting the final drive ratio to the highest value (normally 5.00 or 5.50) and then move the auto slider to 25 and then all the way back to 1. Leaving the auto slider set at one you know adjust the final drive ratio to a setting that will meet the needs of your car and the track

I have never used the tranny trick myself but gather this seems to work!

For suspension be wary of any "One size fits all settings" that get suggested.

Suspension needs tuning for each circuit and an excellent way to start is with the tuning guides that Scaff produced, the link is in my signature below. By following some simple tips and examples you should be able to learn a great deal regarding how to set up that M3:tup:

Hope this helps

David
