1080p mode Temporal AA or Quincunx?

I thought the GT5 Academy used Temporal AA in 1080p mode, but I'm not sure about GT5. This link states that 1080p uses Quincunx, which is really crappy. (See Frame buffer/image quality heading)

However, GT5 has the same normal, flicker reduction, and sharpen modes found in the demo. Setting to normal enabled Temporal AA.

The reason I ask is I'm seeing some really bad looking textures on maps like Trial Mountain. I'm wondering if it's because of Quincunx AA as such will blur everything.

On the other hand some tracks look just fine. So maybe Trial Mountain is just a really crappy map?

yes GT5 use also Temporal AAx2 in "normal" mode (+ MSAA or QAA) and disable temporal AA in "flicker reduction" mode (because temporal AA without blend like GT5 create flikering)
this temporal AA can't appear on screenshots, use retinal persistence, create flickering and work on static scene, not in motion

normal mode in 1080p is QAAx2 + TAAx2
normal mode in 720p is MSAAx4 + TAAx2

Thanks for the clarification. The flicker doesn't bother me as I don't really set it much.

So does 720p look better than 1080p on a native 1080p TV? I tried 720 in prologue and I thought 1080p was better because it looked crisper. I'm not sure now about 1080p being QAA instead of MSAA. I'm particularly concerned about the car gauges and the landscape textures, which by the way see to very greatly from track to track and car to car.

(i.e. the Corvette Z06 '06 has very blurry gauges in 1080p cockpit view. Is it any better in 720p? I'll try later when I get some more time with the game.)
