What does the Panoz Esperante GT-LM look like. It's nothing like the original GT1 is it?

Also interesting that Chamberlain engeneering has taken on 2 TVR 400R's. I seem to remember he was succesful when he ran the Vipers, and he ran the works MG squad.

Darin: You better take some pictures!!!! :P . Especially of the Lotus as well if you may :D.

The car was developed by Panoz as a cheap GT car they could sell to teams, but Hyper Sport isn't a factory team.

If you ask me, it looks like a Trans Am car. There was one at the Petit LeMans @ Road Altanta in October and it didn't last to long.

You know one thing I love about sportscar racing? Variety. Usually the GT class is often the most overrated class in sportscar racing. Porsches, Ferraris, the Morgans, and all... variety will be impressive. Expect no less at Sebring. I'm sure it will be a great weekend to go racing around St. Patrick's Day time. Now let's see if Speed doesn't kill the coverage with anything other than sportscars... They been impressive so far with Sebring's history.

And it's nice to see Team Goh in the lineup, or so I heard. Audi Sport Japan finished 4th overall at Le Mans last year, and I think they can really make a favorable impression this year at Sebring and Le Mans.

In fact, I would love to see Japan become a household name in sportscar racing one day. There should be more of them to make this a worldwide affair. I mean, American cars, European cars, and if Japan gets in on the act, it will be the best of the three sides of the world. The Americas, the Mediterrenean, and the Asia-Pacific.

Oh, before I look for any other replies, I'd like to add something.

I think Panoz should think about remaking the 1997-ish super race car, the Esperante GT1. I don't know if they would call it the "Esperante GT1-2," but if they can't do that, then they should build a totally new race car. Panoz makes beautiful, exotic race cars. Panoz wants the European style, but with well-loved American front-rear drivetrain style. But again, God bless Don Panoz for coming up with the ALMS, and thanks to the ACO in France for keeping it alive as well.

Slight changes:

Prodrive/Care Racing has dropped out of Sebring, citing more concentration on development for the upcoming LMES season.

Larbre Competition of FIAGT Viper fame has bought the Panoz Esperante GTR-1 used in the LeMans 1000km for use at Sebring.
