How long would that take not only to make, but see every little detail?

Edit, duh.

• The image size is 40 inches by 120 inches.
• The flattened file weighs in at 1.7 Gigabytes.
• It took eleven months (close to 2,000 hours) to create.
• The painting is comprised of close to fifty individual Photoshop files.
• Taking a cumulative total of all the files, the overall image contains over 15,000 layers.
• Over 500 alpha channels were used for various effects.
• Over 250,000 paths make up the multitude of shapes throughout the scene.

Wow. This guy must have the patience of a buddha.

I usually take a week at most to make a good photoshop image. Any longer and I give up. Dude is probably being paid massive bucks to make that.

Edit: 1,600 post. Don't know why that is so special.

I have seen his oyster bar photo from a photoshop book
this guy got amazing patience doing all these vexal art

I guess he makes enough money with his books
so he can have crazy fun with his photoshop journey

Holy crap, it's hard enough for me to mess with 5 layers.

And not even a buddha has that kind of patience. That is just great, I would want to learn Photoshop from him, all day, any day.

Actually, Buddha couldve made that thing in one second. Or just started, then cloned himself and travelled through time to the finish.

I am a Buddhist so I would know.;)

Yeah, Buddha would have ripped his own arm off and heaved it at his PC doing that pic...I think we may have found a new leader for a digital cult!

The incredible attention to detail and long sleepless Red Bull fuelled nights that went into this would be lost on 99.9% of the people that see it. It's amazing, yes, but (to be an old grouch) why not just take a photo?!

EDIT: And here's his reasoning...

Good question, when you consider my paintings look like photographs. Well, for one thing, I’m not a photographer. To me, it is not the destination that is important—it is the journey.
The incredible challenge of recreating reality is my motivation. — Bert Monroy

Fair enough. Respect!

Holy Macaroni!

That's just insane! dunno what else to say but insane...
I guess it would be easier to create the scene in 3ds Max or other rendering software....

Looks awesome, but i never had the patience for sth. like that
