From what info I could gather from the net, there were eight known F40 prototypes (73015, 74045, 74047, 74049, 74327, 75034, 75052 and 76354).They were built for testing everything from suspension to drivetrain development. The info I have for the 74047 is that it had:
1)590 bhp
2)Weighed 2,800 pounds wet, a good 200 pounds less than the 2,976 pounds (dry) weight of a U.S.-spec F40 (the competition LM reportedly weighed 2,315 pounds dry). That is 1270 kg!
3)Wider Speedline wheels
4)Fitted with the adjustable ride height option, which can be manually switched on to raise the car up for traversing bumps, or in automatic mode will progressively lower the car as speed increases. Normal ride height is 4.9″, which drops to 4.1″ at 75 mph, but can be raised to 5.9″ at low speeds.5 cm lower suspension settings than normal F40.
6)The seats are upholstered in red.
7)There is no catalytic converter.
8)The gearbox looks like a standard F40, and has a magnesium case like a 288 GTO. It is fitted with a three-plate (vs. two on the standard F40) AP racing clutch with a special throw-out bearing. So I left the gear box as it was and added a two-plate clutch,in game car came with none at all...
9)The ECU is an enhanced one-off unit.
10)The IHI turbos are different from stock, but not the same as the ones on an LM.

With that info in mind this is the F40 Prototype/GT no 74047 Chassis No.ZFFGJ34B000074047 replica I created. If you find any more info on that car please share it with us!The car is up for share on jeeptj2008,you're welcome to take her for a spin :)

Nice car man!! That white looks good on the F40. You should post this in the replica tunes section where it'll get a lot more looks.

Did some testing with the original gear box and a fully adjustable one, set to 336 km max speed. There is quite a difference...almost 1 sec in every run!
0-100km 3.083/4.008
0-200km 8.894/9.687
0-400m 10.678/11.503
0-1000m 19.154/19.948
The data I have managed to collect so far though, suggests that the prototypes had a similar gear box to the production units...

okay, i just tried this, and this is the type of car to brutally murder you then send your head in a box to your loved ones. but, this car is so alive! thanks for my new favourite car!
