Dear GT5ers,

What is the best first car to buy at the very beginning of GT5?

Did look in the forum but cannot find any thread relating to this.

Thank you all for your replys.

Happy Christmas and a GT5 new Year

Whichever one you like best. You will gather cars and money quickly. IMO, if you're starting now get one of the cars that will race in a Seasonal race ASAP. Like the Fiat. Place decent in one of those and you'll be off to a much better start money wise than those that started the game without those events around.

Just avoid clunkers. You can race many early series with little to no car restrictions. I did it with a Miata/ MX-5, but only ran two races before I bought an RX-7. Pick up something cheap with low miles from the used car lot.

While it can take a while to find in used cars, use the license test trick, most people agree the Tommykaira ZZII '00 is the best bang for the buck car in the game. It was about the 3rd car I bought and I'm glad I did. One nice thing is when you go "off road" it's 4wd and does better than most cars. Does 202 MPH at Daytona with no draft and costs about 50K Cr.

It's not that important IMO.. U just buy a 0 level car and start doing lisences.. And win other cars.
I personally bought mazda mx5 that also served me well later in some races.
(b-spec mr challenge!! Win Mazda furai)

Yes buy a Mazda MX-5 for just 19.000 and do a racing chip modification for 1000 Cr. and recive your firs trophy (penniless... I think) :)

My first was the Corolla Levin. It turned out to be a nice little car and a lot faster than you would think...

I wanted to get a premium car, so I searched for a car in the Dealerships and after awhile I decided to go with a Suzuki SWIFT Sport '07.

I also started with the Suzuki Swift Sport '07. It's easily enough for the first three events.

the AE86 levin for me, becomes a bit of an animal after its tuned, make sure you at least do an oil change after you buy anything from the used car dealer licence tests do give you some good cars

I've started with a Red Mazda MX5 in GT3, GT4, and GT5. Served me well for the first couple series in every game. The next car I bought in GT5 was the Premium Skyline GT-R R32 (V Spec II?) and used that for almost everything I could enter it in until the Expert events when I started using race cars.

I would buy the Civic in the dealership if I were starting from scratch again. That will win you the first 3 Race Catagories (Clubman/FF/Economy Car?) and you can Race Mod it and win the Japanese 90's challenge in the next level.

B-spec Bob loves the car.

Just do this:

Buy cheapest car > do national B licence > use Nissan MM-R > Do some races > Do national A > Motul Race Car > ???? > Profit!!!

I feel like choice of first car definitely isn't as important as in the previous games. I ended up with a Silvia K Aero for something like 14,000, it was fine for a couple races and left plenty for some upgrades. Then went to a used efini RX-7. Quickly didn't really matter, what with all the cars from license tests and the various requirements for the different series - I don't think I've used any car in more than a couple race series up to this point. You definitely don't develop the strong relationship to your first/second car that you did in previous versions.
