Nowt to really brag about, but, won my 1st race ever on GT Sport, only ever had two 2nd's before. Usually lose it due to unforced errors, ha. This time the wife decided to talk to me on the last lap, 3rd corner from finish line, hit the barrier, led by 0.1 ish. Saved replay, she wasn't interested in watching it. Strange. I expected her to spray me in prosseco. :-) 1st race win experiences?
Fun thread.

Congratz on first win! :). It's a good feeling.

My first win was not my proudest, I'll admit.

Yamagiwa, in my GTR Gr.4, battling a guy driving the Corvette for 1st place. He held on to the lead until second last corner in last lap, he went wide and slightly off track. I was certain, this was fate, it was my time to shine and swoop in for the win! I made my move in the last corner but misjudged my breaking and collided with the guy. The collision made him go wide and lose speed while I kept going.

I had just the final straight left. Win was certain. However I felt guilty for my unintentional dirty pass and was debating if I should slow down and give up my position .. but before I knew it I crossed the line in 1st place.

When the results came in I saw that the guy had a older penalty of total 15 second and actually ended 3rd in the race. So even if I had give my position I still would've win! I didn't feel so bad anymore and decided to enjoy my first win! :D

Wouldn't it be nice if you could tell by a indicator next to his name during the race that he had a penalty and you would not need to take extra risk trying to make a pass for a position when you had the position already because of the penalty?

My first win in the full game was by default - I crossed the line in third position, and inherited a win without ever having led a single second of the race because the two infront both had penalties from playing dodgems all race long.

I've won 10 now, from about 120 races in total. There always seems to be at least one person in my races lately with a pace I just can't get close to.

Ah, the old passive-aggressive wife talking trick. Only outdone by the wife walking in front of the TV manoeuvre while I am mid brake.

Congrats. I now have 3 under my belt but only one I am proud of.

10 lapper Gr.3 at Brands GP, spent 30 mins qualifying, got pole by 0.002, got to the first corner ahead and the GT-R behind me kept within 1 second the whole race.

Managed 9 laps back to back within 0.2 of each other so was very happy with my consistency but never managed to shake the GT-R.

Most rewarding race so far in every way. The wife remained distinctly unimpressed.

Congrats on your first win! I don't have PS+ so don't think i will ever win a race on GT Sport. Hopefully in the GT League I can win some races :)

Congratulations on your win man.

Wife distractions are a HUGE part of the whole GT experience.

Deciding to switch down to 2nd gear when approaching the apex while keeping an eye out for the guy who's trying to overtake you, you let go off the throttle a little bit, you constantly nod and say "oh yeah?" to your wife while. She probably expects a more dedicated response from you as in the form of a real sentence. You need to be sweet and calm and BANG, the over enthusiast guy on your tail rams you off the track yet you smile and say "Yeah? Wow" to your wife. That's what I call multitasking!

I used to do that too give my place back if i hit someone but i don't do that anymore because some people you hit are out for revenge later
i just send a message to apologize if i hit someone hard by misjudging my corner

I have won 8 times now First won was on Blue Moon Speedway in the first days of the game
i have alot of podium finishes but winning stays hard there is always 1 i can't catch or i mess up when i'm in the lead

My first win actually came in the second week of the FIA tests, dragon tail Gr4, (before the it became the megane cup), I was in the WRX, started 3rd. It was one of those clean and actually really boring races. First lap the two front guys were trading paint at every corner so I just sat off them knowing it would only be a matter of time before at least one of them went off. Sure enough start of second lap they took each other off at the first chicane. I swooped past never to see them or anyone else ever again. Won by 8 seconds. Boring race but awesome to get the first win :gtpflag:

First win, Lago Maggiore Gr. 4 with a F458.
Qualified 4th, target was podium, as pole was 2 secs faster than the rest of the field.
At the beginning of the race made a move to third, started thinking on 2nd place, but realized the pole man couldn't get away as I supposed.
The guy obviously couldn't put is qualifying pace being under pressure from other car. The 2nd wasn't far better.
The pole man made an error mid race, on the banked hairpin. At this moment I realized I could win, if I could put some pressure on the new leader.
Put pressure on new leader, caught the slipstream on the big straight, dived on the inside but he didn't flink, gave him room, eventually passed him on the double right hander before the last corner as he made a small error on the previous flat out kink. On the end of S/F straight he tried to counter attack, dive bombing me, but I braked early and he passed flying right in front of me, direct to the wall on the outside. To more laps where I managed the gaps. Very satisfying first win.
Second win:
Citroen DS3 on Northern Isle. No expectations, just the other options was a gr.4 post 1.06 race and a one make with a car I didn't have in my garage, the DS3 was my only option. Surprisingly made the pole (It was a saturday morning, I guess not many people playing at that time). The race was trouble free, leader from green to flag, only once the second placed guy had a real chance to overtake, but I gave him only a lane width to try to make a pass. He backed out. Very easy win on a race I was happy just not being a bumpfest.

Only 2 wins for me. Kyoto Driving Park in Cayman GT4 and Suzuka in the Megane, which was a Pole to Flag win. Stopped using it after that race as I felt the "shame shame shame" for such an easy win.

I've messed up pole a few times from mainly unforced errors, but I have been rammed right down the pack before which may or maynot have upset me a lot.

Congratz on your first win though, it's great to finally have one under the belt.

All I can remember

Well done Op I have yet to win a race my best result so far is a third position.I only started yesterday and got my Dr c and SR s and I've never had so much clean racing online.

Mine was on Maggiore. I qualified well, on the 10th lap I was ahead by miles in the TTCup (before people found out about the Megane) I went wide on the esses in the middle of the track b/c I was just trying to cruise and take corners nice and smooth lol. Spun out and ended up back in 4th then got back to 2nd by the end of the race.

Next race was a repeat of that one and I was determined to win. I had the same qualifying time but it was good enough for pole position. Race started and I never looked back. I was in 1st from start to finish and was never seriously challenged
