Cool, I made it. (And no votes)
For me it's between the C5 & C12, the Initial D, and the GT300.

I (finally) went with the Initial D pic. I think it fits with the theme the most. But there's a lot of great pics. It's hard to choose. :scared:

I didn't enter this week but it was a great theme that has netted some impressive results. However I did spend a bit of time looking at them all so I thought I may as well share my thoughts - please feel free to disagree with anything I say and remember I am not an art critic so don't take my comments to heart!

1 - Excellent use of photoshop that gives a dramatic effect rather than a drastic one. I'm not familliar with the Initial D series upon which it is apparantly based, but it certainly captures a unique style, although I would liked to have seen more of the yellow car in frame.

2 - Classic atlop style, however this shot is a little on the bland side; nice framing but nothing really happening - though the same criticism could be levelled at many of my recent shots.

3 - Nice to see a distant shot for a change and this one does make good use of the colours, however to me it doesn't convey enough of a feeling of the cars going anywhere - I'd like to see a corner up ahead or something that suggests the cars are racing rather than crusing side by side.

4 - I'm jealous of this shot because I didn't take it! Very nice and clean and I particularly like this style, but there's something lacking from this shot that I just can't put my finger on.

5 - A nice pair of cars with good timing to capture the backfire and a great background, but to me the angle of the shot is too steep and not cropped as tightly as I would have done.

6 - Speaking of cropping this shot I would also have framed a little more tightly, but that's just my opinion and I still think it is splendid and has a beautiful lighting effect. My second pick!

7 - I have to say I am a little disappointed by this shot because I know Slipztrem can do better. The main thing I don't like it is the lack of any sense of speed, there is no motion apparant in either the cars or the background.

8 - I'm a sucker for colourful, tightly framed action shots and so this one got my vote. It has a lovely crisp focus on the cars while having a great sense of speed though the background blur. Very nice, whoever's it is!

9 - An interesting effect what has been done to the colours and it almost works, but I think the truck needs to be more 'in your face' to pull the idea off - but that is not easy with the limited camera angles we have to choose from.

10 - A good sharp shot of the cars, but to my mind this suffers from the same problem as no.3, in that there's not enough sense of motion to the cars.

Anyway as I said this are just one person's opinion and not by any means a definitive judgement. If you think I've been too harsh then say so or, better yet, get stuck into any of my recent entries!
