I've been trying to play my customized cars against my friends custom cars but for some reason when we use our own cars in 2 player mode all the aids get disabled. Can someone please tell me how to turn on the aids. Ive been trying for a while now with no luck. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'd say, learn how to drive without them, or set a car up for "aidslessness"

In the link in my sig, you can find a whole bunch of tunes, made for that: Drivability without aids. Enjoy!

GT4 does not support AIDS 🤬 We´d all be dead by now if so.

What? oh aids not AIDS, goddamit i must´ve missed the memo.

Seriously, drive lower hp cars so you dont get wheelspin so easily -> No need for AIDS. I mean aids. Or just learn how to drive without AIDS. i mean aids. 👍

In GT3, you could set your car up in sim mode, and the settings would be retained in Arcade once you switched over, have they changed this?

Hate to tell you this, but the only answer you're gonna get from us is "dont use them". in the long run, it's better to drive without them, you'll get better control as you figure out the quirks your cars really have, and how to make your settings, and how to drive more consistently without relying on AIDS. I mean aids. :dunce:

If you dont mind my asking, which car(s) are you driving?

it would have been nice to atleast have the option like in gt3. Its pretty hard not having TC with a 800hp car using just the ps2 controller. I certainly hope they atleast give us the option in gt5

800hp is insanity unless you have Group-C like downforce or AWD. (Add street tires and you're pretty much screwed)

But then again, our own Rockit tunes cars JUST for this purpose (High power street tires). Hit my sig link.

if you must here
choose any crapy car and turn the aids on for it now go to switch car and pic your desired car from mem card and it should work,
BUT YEAH driving without is better, allthough i used to do that when did drags with fully built rwds (supra, rxy ect)
but now i dont especially if its cricut as being a drifter i like ot let the rear slide a bit from time to time.

?

If you meant Rockit, then yes. But... That wasn't me who said that.

I said it's insanity without AWD or group-C like downforce. And I can't say Rockit's quite sane. Then again, I myself am Perfectly Insane. :D

And to boot, I run a DFP, not a DS2 :P

I only EVER run traction control to preserve tires. So that means on Group C cars that I am racing for any length of time (I don't like having to feather the throttle through third for more than 5 minutes at a time). Anything else is too low power or for fun.

No Im actually the friend. I meant I manage fine with the controller. And youre right it is easy with Group C cars. I never use traction control. Ever. In my opinion any impedance on throttle progression slows you down. But Ive gotten to the stage where balancing the throttle to control wheelspin is second nature. Just like using manual transmission.
