Hands down the largest "tiny member, huge ego and lack of taste" meet i've ever seen, but I thought some kids in here would enjoy seeing those...

More pics of tasteless individuals and their ugly, overpriced cars.

I wonder how many cars were actually driven to the meet, and how many were trailer queens?

The amount of money tied up in that first pic, is mind boggling.

Josh, you need an avatar very much like Freds. Well yes, exactly like Freds. Yep!

But anyway, we all know PR hates Ferrari.

Just refresh the page, they should show up. It did that to me a few times.

What's your idea of good taste, PunkRock? I'm dying to know...:)

The other prancing horse...

a 911 Turbo's faster and cheaper than a 360 Modena. And it's more practical. An NSX is faster than a 348/355, costs less and is much more reliable. Ferraris are toys for poseurs wanting a sports car, save perhaps the F40, which is the only (and i say only) Ferrari i wouldn't turn down, they always were, and they'll always be. A tad like the sports cars from Sant'Agata Bolognese...

I've never been a fan of Ferrari's pansy-ness. All those fragile cars that break down if you look at them wrong, the boring and basic Pininfarina design (a 355 or 348 has no originality, it's the good ole' text book design for a sports car. And don't get me started on the 360's front end.)

But surely you wouldn't say know to a 288 GTO?!?!? The testbed for the mighty 40.

By the way, sorry I forgot to commend you on your choice of car. The 911 Turbo is a fantasically capable car (though in my modest opinion, a few too many of the wrong people have them too) :(

I would.

I was offered a ride in a 308 last summer, from one of my father's track buddies, which i promptly declined. Funny thing is, this guy goes to the racetrack, but yet he stays in the pits all day, shining his big fiberglass turd. Had i accepted his offer, i'm sure he would have spun it around and told me he couldn't, his Weber carbs weren't running properly, or some pansy similar BS.

Mighty's a strong word. The F40 today could get its ass kicked around a proper racetrack by a 50 000$ Corvette, or an Impreza WRX STi. Times change, technologies evolve, and old cars become older and obsolete.

If they only had more in yellow, I love the F40 to death, but that many just don't look NEARLY as appealing as 1 or 2 on the track or the showroom floor.

There are some Ferraris I LOVE. Daytona, 512 BB, 308/328, Testarossa, MODENA 360!!!
But the F-40 & GTO ('80s) were just 308s with body kits to me. They should have been more creative. 👎

P.S. Did they actually DRIVE these cars on the track?!?! These people look bored to death! Unless these pics were taken during lunch.

Could be the angle they're parked in... Or most of them are Fieros in drag. :D

 I agree with PunkRock. I do not like Ferrari's. I would much rather have an NSX or a Porsche like he said.

Psst. All that money going into it, and they don't even have a stereo... :)

Seriously though PR, you would turn down any one of those except the F40's?

It's kinda funny, we actually have a '93 here in town, in Montana, where you need 4-wheel drive just to get groceries. What a joke, he's probably from California. :D

Anyhow, thanks for the pics, it was a little overkill and took the WOW factor away for me because there were so many of them.

PR, you hit every nail on the head with your comments.

Especially the part about the Subaru sedan whooping up on the exotic super car.

That'll be the stock Subaru Impreza "sedan"? Like the 1999 Impreza RB5 my brother owns - rated the best Impreza ever. Which he has been unable to drive properly for 8 weeks this year due to a fault his local dealership couldn't identify - which was later identified as a fault in the replacement ECU the OTHER Subaru main dealer didn't know was there, which invalidated his £600 3-year warranty. And he had to spend £700 on brakes for because the normal Impreza brakes suck ass... :D

Don't get me wrong - I'm not ragging on the Impreza. I like it (although not to the point my brother does). But the chances of an Impreza beating a Ferrari F40 around ANY track is slim at best (assuming neither car breaks down on the way there).

On a nice, windy English B-road, I think the Impreza would ask some serious questions of the Ferrari F40, most of which the F40 wouldn't be able to answer. But on a track? NFW.

(and yes, I'm aware my brother's Impreza RB5 cost £15,000 and an F40 would cost £85,000+ IF you could find one. That's not the point)

I dunno what you guys are talking about. I love Ferrari's to death.

Although having so many in one location really does take away some of the "wow factor" that's usually present in the presence of just one. I really dislike the red color everyone seems to choose for these cars. I would much prefer a silver one.

What about the F50??

Just a 308 with a bodykit!?!?!? I think you better rethink your statement there. The 308 and the GTO are entirely different cars. That's like saying a 959 was basically an early '80s 911 with a bodykit. The GTO was built purely for homologation (hence the 'O' in it's name). For Ferrari to enter Group B rallying, it needed to build at least 200 of them. I guess the reason why they stuck with the basic 308 shape, actually not one panel is the same, is down to time and budget restrictions.

Almost nothing about those two cars is the same; Engine capacity, aspiration, composite and aluminium body, weight and engine layout are all different, and superior. Not to mention the power output 400hp/GTO 240hp/GTB/S

And let's not forget the styling, even if you don't like it you have to admire it. It's the epitamy of aggression and beauty:)

i too love the gto and f40... dont really think anything much of later ferraries...

i think i saw a diablo up in the pic... oh wait no i did not...

which do you dislike more ferrari or lambo... personally i think there is no question... lambos are the weaker car... although a miura would be a wonderful car to play with... unlikely many have seen play however...

I'm aware of the technical aspects of these cars, Chaser Fan.
On second thought, I was mostly disappointed with the F-40. They had plenty of time to plan that car.

Seriously though, no matter how much you hate the company, or 2-3 of their cars, you have to admit, if you saw one driving down the street you would gawk, you wouldn't go "Oh look at that piece of crap" Because everyone around you would slap you for saying something so stupid.

Miura is a wonderful car, possibly one of THE designs of the 20th century. Shame it was designed like an aircraft wing though, it's got the somewhat alarming tendency to take-off at high speeds:eek:

Can't say I'm too keen on Lamborghini on the whole though. The Countach was another milestone car but did we really need it for nearly thirty years, in the form of the monsterous doorstop that was the Diablo?!?

VW seem to be taking Lamborghini in the right direction but I'm still not keen on the cars they make. I see two Murcielagos on the way to work every day and, even though they're undoubtedly lovely cars, they just don't 'do it' for me:(

Nah - it's just the angles. There were differing versions of the F40, but they were limited to engine and suspension 'track' mods.

I'd love a current Ferrari. I'm not much of a fan of their older stuff - well, I'd take an F40, I have a bit of a soft spot for that model, but I'd take a 959 over that - but the newer ones, the 360 particularly, do catch my eye. They do seem to be a LOT better made than they were in the 80's and early 90's.

If I was in that market with my own money, though, I would be inclined to head over to a Porsche dealership and look at a 911 though.
