So, I have been drifting with this car since its the only car I can drift with since Im a noob drifter. Now that Iv got a basic understanding on how to drift. I want to get a tune for it. I consulted https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=135527 and found it doesn't have anything for this car. I would like to get a starter tune for it and then I can adjust it for me (hopefully if I don't screw it up). I can share the car if needed. Can any one help? I use a DS3. (for now)

You could plug and play with the settings while you know the car like the back of your hand.Sadl,y, I need to update the depot and I wish I could help you other than that...start from stock and try drifting just by changing tires. Don't add parts too fast.

The only things I got on it right now are an exhaust, ecu, lsd(stock settings), fc suspension(stock settings) and an fc transmission(geared to max speed of 155mph). As of right now i can stand on that gas in 3rd and 4th and not redline while drifting and I can feather it if I need to; but Im drifting to slowly in the turn to keep up when tandeming(learning how to). Thats kind of where I stand right now. I know I can get more out of it, its just I have no clue how to setup an LSD and a FC suspension without totally destroying what I currently have.

I have a base tune for it..but nk4e got the idea. Just mess with settings small changes first. I would lower it (not all the way) then mess with the spring rates in minor increments..and you will notice the car faces understeer..oversteer..small adjustments show you what changes what. Fascinating really..but don't just throw crazy numbers in there..lol..jumping from like say 5.6 all the way to 9.7...HUGE jump and you won't learn what all was affected..do like 1.0 changes if you wanna be fast..but .5 will help you make more precise tunes..just read up a bit on the tuning guide then you will see what I mean.

You learn it for one..you learn it for all. Takes awhile to get a good tune for the first whip but afterwards you will be able to tune like any other vehicle.

I was doing that today and Im not getting anywhere with it. The only thing i noticed different is now I can ebrake drift more controlled than I could before. Plus when I went into a room, I got called a garbage drifter by a team from this forum. That kind of put me off....

Wait they actually have the Pontiac GTO Coupe in the game or are we talking Holden Monaro? I have a Monaro and for me I had to go stage 3 on engine and Chasis because the thing weighs a ton...Still 1300kg after the stage 3 weight reduction! Anyway, if you run into tuning problems I just reset everything and start over. I love the GTO/Monaro as that engine Is a Beast!
We should start a GTO/Monaro club, I don't see too many people driving or Drifting them. I'm curious of it's racing potential.

Yea, they have it in the game. I just bought another one that came up in my UCD today. I like it since its the only car i can drift since im learning. I also have a Monaro but I like the GTO better. Im trying to get the suspension setup so I can drift the car better. Right now its twitchy and likes to snap if your not careful. When I started it was slow at transitioning. Im have a bear tuning it since Im new to tuning.

First thanks for the info. Second here's something I forgot. Rhys Millan who drifted a GTO in D1 had this Strange Fin looking thing on the Back of the GTO which helped stabilize the rear.....so whatever tuning has to be done on it is going to involve more rear susp. adjustment.

Thanks for the info. The only thing i can add to it is a wing since its considered a standard car. (I can't see how its standard.) I'll keep messing with it and see what I can come up with.

Hey google Rhys Millan Pontiac GTO and look at The Images. In some of the pics you can kind of see what I'm talking about....It's not the spoiler itself I was talking about. Theres like a pexiglass looking fin that splits through the Rear into the car. It was controversial because it was a custom piece that was said to help stabilize the rear end at high speeds! I actually got to see the Debut of his GTO at the 2005 D1 at Irwindale and the car is awesome! Sounds exactly the same as The ones on GT5 when you are redlining the Rev limiter!

Alright, Will do. Still having issues tuning it though. This might take awhile.

Good setup I reckon, was in a competition with Stunt last weekend and even on a very tight and technical track in Tokyo Bay it looked very good in each round and made it to the final.

I have a GTO in my garage too but haven't go round to trying it out yet, might try it tonight :)

I have both but have only changed tyres on the monaro. With CH tyres its pretty epic! So smooth, it reminds me of that Top Gear episode :D

Those settings are similar to mine except I run my rear Ride height 1 inch higher than the front it gives me a little more control up front. Try it and let me know what you think.

1 inch? the readings are in mm sir :) do you run it 10mm higher? like -2mm F/ -12mm R ?

I'll try it out. My current setup is a world apart from yours. I cant stand fast transitions. I have an rx-7 but its too fast at switching for me. So i hardly ever use it. Thanks for a tune to start with.

I tried your setup and I liked it, just need to tweak it to my liking. Just one question, this setup is for a DS3 user or a wheel user?

This set up is used for DS3 I'm sure things will have to be altered to suit wheel users..sorry I didn't clarify :). I'm glad you like it though..makes me feel like I'm doing something right :D

No problem. Im using a ds3 so it seemed to fit unusually well when I first tried it. Im still tweaking it but its going much better now that I have a base to go off of.

I'd suggest you read scaffs and boundry layers guides to help you get a better understanding of how to tune your car.
Here is some links to help you out.

Rhys's D1 car did not have the same rear as a stock 04 GTO. The D1 car was converted to a soild rear, I think a Ford 9in. A stock 04-06 GTO like in the game is indepenant. Sorry just letting you know.

Just bought one of these and tuned it with stundrifters tune. I found it a bit heavy at first (used to drifting s2000 GT1 turbos) So I threw in some extra hp lightened it up one step further and reduced the ride height. Feels quite stable and fast now

Thanks for the info. Im glad other people are using this as well. When I started with it, I noticed it was heavy also, but I didnt change it since I wasnt sure if that was the way to go with it. Ill give it a try next time I get on.

I drift a GTO and it is really good. Search for a mustang drift tune i got mine from the main tuning thing and used it, but change ur transmission to 224mph. Remember to use manual transmission lol
