2013 Nurburgring 24hr Race by wurks.ca - Need help with car list

Preparation for the 2013 race is a little behind and we need your help to lock down the car list for next years event.

Last year we had very loose guidelines as for car choice, but this year we are going to have a fixed list.

Here is our aim:

Create a list of all the cars that have: a. the GT windsheild banner AND b. a roll cage.

If you could link to a picture, that would be great. As your findings trickle in, I'll update the list in this post.

I beleive all the DLC TC cars do and the Shulze Motorsport GT-R has the banner.

As the Gran Turismo Ford GT was made with the purpose of being GT eligible, I think it should be availible for use as well.

If you mean the one that beat my team earlier this year then I disagree dude, that thing was in another class entirely; it was clearly a rabbit car and If I see that car on a list of potential cars I won't be impressed.

On a sad note the Cusco doesn't have the sticker dammit!

That's the one. I can't say whether or not it's over powered compared to the compitition, but it was build to GT class standards. Of course there are different GT classes, and the design might have been taken from a year with less restrictions.

But speaking of over powered cars. Will anything be able to keep up with the TC R35? It's a shame the game doesn't feature more real GT cars.

For now however, we have enough detail to deal with that we want to keep it simple. The windsheild banner rule still stands.

In the future, once we have everything else sorted, we'll search for the perfect list.

Any other cars make the cut? Can anyone confirm that the RM cars have the banner?
Once we have the list, we'll check for any cars that are unfair compared to the others.

Well, I can say for sure that the RM Golf, Evo, Subaru and Corvettes have the Gran Turismo banner at the top of the front window. I'm confident that all the RM cars have it.

It's funny I should see this thread now. I'm currently creating and testing 600pp and 550pp class cars to make a Nurburgring GT Banner Endurance race.

I'm using most DLC TC cars and Race Mods and also standard cars like the Audi R LMS Team Playstation, Lexus IS200 GT-1 Race Car, and Red and White SKyline without the pace car lights on it.

I'll be finished testing soon and be advertising a 3 - 4 hour enduro on this site. Anyone who wants to compete will be able to ^^.


EDIT: Stealth cars also carry the banner but I wouldn't recommend using the GT500 "look-a-like" cars. If you can get your hands on a SLS Stealth Model I'm sure that car would be most fitting.

Flash05 and myself made this list below for our own use in BFGRacing.com racing league, but can see it may be of help here. Although some cars won't be included due to the GT Banner rule, the idea was to break the GT Original cars, or cars that didn't fit into a certain category in GT5, into different categories to quickly create a set list and race with competitive models. May be a starting point, hope it comes in use for someone.

Yeah it's most certainly a rabbit at those regs, it was lapping in 8:30s whilst we were in 840s and higher in cusco and we were flying, there wasn't much more time left out there on our fastest laps.

Can't wait for 2013, my training kicks off Nov 1 officially but I'm doing some laps now, can't stop myself haha

Without even taking the cars to the track, I can break up the list into rough categories. With testing will prove there are even rabbits within these smaller classes. Take the Fastest list for example, the Audi/RX7/R35/Lotus cars will be the fastest of all.

It's good to see you are trying to check performance and tighten up the car list before the next event. It is something I warned ahead of the last race. It's also why I posted that google docs link last page with a categorized list of cars in different classes. I would love to run in it this time, but probably have no one in town interested.

Have you thought of multi class racing? 7 cars per class, 14 cars on track?

I think from the lists below, the Slow and the Fast list would provide some great close racing. I think Fastest would be too throttled through engine limiting to be any fun if you are sticking to 400HP
