Yes we are, and please take note: NO OIL CHANGE
and NO improvement of the body rigidity everything stock.

I will be setting limits tonight, to the stock levels.

  • GT-R R35 Touring Car - [635hp - 629pp]

For anyone interested, these 2 cars are actually 507PP, and 615PP respectively when bought new.

Btw, they definately are running with oil change in the sparring thread (Note : On the aussie ROOZ server, we don't do an oil change).

Anyway, i've decided to run tonights racing as R0T0R has something on, and alot of drivers won't be running too due to various reasons. Not sure how many will turn up tonight, if any at all. But if you plan to run, send me a friend request.

Also there is a ROOZ league race thurs night as well, so there won't be many til later that night as well (not sure if a non league racing rooz driver will run it thurs night yet).

Each track/car combo will run 10-12min prac and 3x2 lap races. The 2nd and 3rd races are random grid.

Should be on at about 8pm after tennis

I'll log on for a bit too. Still playing around with my driving setup. Got a headset in the mail yesterday and finally hooked it up today, was getting so over typing!

Server up in 5mins

Good racing all. :)

Same time tommorrow night. Rooz have another league race on, so i'll run it again.

Probably run prac to about 6 laps worth per track, so for the shortest track it will be about 7mins, and the longest track will be about 12mins.

I'll mix up the car order, but probably apply the same idea as tonight, with the lower pp cars on the shorter tracks, and the higher on the longer race tracks.

And we will go 2x4laps for the races :)

Cheers,
metal

Are the races aimed at simulating your national final? In NZ's 2010 one the most practise laps we had was one out lap and one flying lap followed by 4 x 3 lap races (We had five groups of four finalists to go through a quarterfinal, semi and final in the space of around 6 hours). The only different set-up we had was the final race where it was an 8-lapper around the Indy Road Course which happened to be the track for the online qualifier. Don't 100% recall how the AU one was done but I remember it being similar.

The AUS one was the same, but they have changed the format for the national finals now due to too many accidents and people affecting other peoples races.

As far as I know, it is more time trial based this time with only a few races, and those being head to head I believe.

Heya Louie, from the vids i've seen online, previously it was races, either 4 ,6, or 8 up. Also seen 3 lap time trials run early as well, with racing later, with sometimes head to head. And for the racing, yeah it's seems to have always been 1 flying lap for qual.

At the moment though, the aim of these pre-final races are to get us into that mode of any car at any track. But it's also to learn the braking and turn in points specific to the combo. And at this stage, to get good close racing, you need quality over quantity. And to get that you need at least some practice laps to dial in approximate braking markers and such.

Personally, I think it's probably best to wait til the last 2 days of pre-final races to be running the 1 flying lap qual, then a short race. By that time everyone should be somewhat dialed in to the cars and tracks, and the races should still be close.

Btw Louie, you going to be joining us for some racing?

7:25am out of Adelaide, how is everyone going with their fitness, as far as I can tell there will be a beep test and a vertical jump test?

I'll give the beep test a go over the weekend.

how do you try a beep test? I know about the 20m gap, but do you have the recordings?

Im most worried about the GT part :( Fitness wise, im way off my peak, but competition always had its way in pushing me to do my best.

Well I have started running about 2 weeks ago and can now run about 2.4 k without stopping. Plank test is what is going to do me in but cant do more then about 1min 30 at the moment

Fitness isn't a problem for me as I cycle race :) Did 2x110k races back to back about 2 weekends ago :)

However, I only started running 2.5 months ago, just a few times per week, usually just 3k, though i've done a 6k'er as well. Legs didn't like running the first few times, but now they come out feeling ok with no doms the day after.

Also started karate mid last year, so my core strength is pretty decent now. Can punch out between 40-50 pushups, about 30+ situps, and i'm up to a 3+min plank now. They will definately do a plank test at nationals.

Vertical leap I should do fine in, even though I haven't been doing sprint training. But I still need to lose about 8kg of fat to be in peak condition, so that's going to affect everything a little.

I'll be trying a beep test next monday. Those little accelerations on the turns are the energy sapping bit, so dunno how i'll go, but I reckon I can do 10+ pretty easily.

I'll try join you guys at least once or twice before your final. My bio clock has been quite well behaved lately (been getting up when the sun comes up and sleeping when it's dark  ) + there's this free combat flight simulator on the PS Store that's been hogging my PS3 time over the past month!

Any early afternoon racing planned for the weekend? I'll definitely be able to make those.

There are free apps which you can get which have the beep test on them. 20m gap, make sure you have both feet behind the line on the turns. (I have heard both ways of it being run, 1 foot behind, or both), so it's better to train for the harder.

I did one a few weeks ago after not doing any sort of fitness at all for a month and did a 10 easy.

Plank I am over 3 mins. Pushups I am about 50 at the moment (chest to the ground). Vertical jump is really hard to measure by yourself but always had decent leg power thanks to 20+ years of athletics, soccer, touch football and cricket.

Will be punishing myself for another week yet before Melbourne.

Good racing tonight. ROOZ missed some good combos in the middle, but ah well, I left em with the delta in 100% rain at Ascari... ;)

Server will be in the hands of a ROOZ member probably for fri and sat night. Not sure about sunday yet.

Anyway, i'm available to run the server if need be, any night except saturday night.

Cheers,
