2014 New Zealand / Australia General Discussion

Good racing tonight. ROOZ missed some good combos in the middle, but ah well, I left em with the delta in 100% rain at Ascari... ;)

Server will be in the hands of a ROOZ member probably for fri and sat night. Not sure about sunday yet.

Anyway, i'm available to run the server if need be, any night except saturday night.

Cheers,

I dare say I will host tonight from 8 onwards. I wont be hosting tomorrow nights however I can host again on Sunday. Plan on getting a full grid on Sunday night, no mics. :)

Thanks guys for your effort hosting. Will def. catch you sunday night. Sounds good!

Sorry to hear I left the room before the delta in the wet. Really missed out there.

What time will the room open? If there's space and it's early enough today I'd love to make it.

I just want to say good luck to all the Aussies that qualified! I was going to give this a crack but I completely forgot about it, doubt I would have even made top 100 anyway. Is the race camp at Calder Park? And what is the date? If spectators are allowed I might come have a look.

I will open a room now for anyone wanting to join, it will be open most of the day.. Untill 10pm tonight.

Due to F1 being on tonight, I will leave the room at 10, and leave it so it will go to the next person if you want to keep running and not watch the F1 :)

Great I'll be on in around an hour. The racing at Silverstone this weekend has been pretty good so far!

Yeah man, should be a good race! I am happy for Jenson to be up there, but go Dan ;)

Also forgot to note, the room will be a first in best dressed situation. Of course it will be prioritized to ROOZ members :)
If we get alot, I can recreate the room with mic's off for an extra 4 drivers :)

No worries. I'll have to push back what time I can make the racing by about 3:30pm over there but otherwise looking forward to getting some virtual laps in!

Final preperation for nationals, track day fun... :)

Hey!!! I did this yesterday too in the 86.... Hahaha I had the same idea to prep for GT Academy. I usually take my renault out to the track but wanted to get some more time in a RWD.

So it was you in the 200. It was a good day, I was driving the hell outta that 86.

i think its about time you replaced that snyco in 2nd gear! Lol that would drive me insane!

The cars we drove were not ours, they were hired. Both of the cars were a little rough around the edges. You could tell they had been flogged.

Ahhh man, shame I didn't recognise you from the Robina round at the start. But we only spoke for 2mins there after you did your 2nd run 3.9 time, so ah well. Bit surprised no one mentioned that you were going for GT academy as well while I was there yesterday. I gather you didn't mention it to the instructors?

Btw everyone, me and Kenshin ran in seperate groups (2 groups), one group on track at a time. So neither participants of each group gets to talk to the other really til after the day is over, and by that time most people had packed up and gone (often because they broke something in their cars).

Lol, just remmembered, Chris (one of the instructors) said he took the 86 out right at the end, and he had a near death braking experience. He said the brakes were cooked. But turns out the fronts just had no brake pads left :D So, nice driving man :) Btw, from what I seen, you were hitting t1 with good speed, and the proper braking point (i.e. just after the 50m sign).

The brakes were very iffy from the start and got worse as the day went on. I was inproving my driving as I learnt the course but finding my brake point for the tighter corners going backwards as I tried to manage the failing brakes :s. I thought I was cooking the fluid.

I did mention to Chris that I was going to the nationals.

The day was a lot if fun and the instructors were great. Chris only rode with me for 2 laps and told me to go as hard as I could. I left the traction control off and got the car nicely sideways, the 86 is so well balanced and awesome to drive. It does need more power though.

It was nice to briefly meet you though, even though we have briefly met 2 times now. Lol

Just out of curiosity, did any of you guys get asked if you have a Twitter account when you were first contacted?

I did, and don't have one, and it was suggested that I make one which I will still have to get around to.
Although if they are planning on us using it on our Phones, my trusty Nokia won't be up for that.

No to twitter q.

Btw, i'm flying out of the Gold Coast at 7am on friday (means I have to get up at like 4.30... urgh! :/). Think i'm the first one into melb at 9.30?
