There is horse racing on the sunday there, but from the looks of it, they do driver training there and the circuit can be hired :)

What's the deal with the promoters asking you guys to make a twitter? It almost feels gimmicky especially since most of the finalists are communicating here or on other forums already. Oh well, looks like all of you will be required to flog the Fairlady (370Z) more than ever on social media this year :lol:

Did any of you guys get a hotel booking or similar info in the last email?
All it seems to have is the hotel we are staying at and thats it.
I will be sending an email to ask if they do have a booking number or similar.

Josh, when I saw the accommodation, my first thought was you'd be happy that it wasn't a caravan ;) Looks pretty nice to me, Im pleasantly surprised.

Unfortunately been flat out at work this week (and last weekend). Really havent had much time at all to practice, and I seriously need it!
 
Hey boys, Just a weather update here in Melbourne: Friday 14max possible showers. Saturday 11max :( Showers. I reckon whoever gets to drive that 370 will be doing it sideways. :)

Peter Read (speedyreadie) is a melbournian. Btw, I asked him if he was on P's, he is. But he asked in April if P's are ok, and they said yes. Also apparently the competitor info pack is basically a cut n paste of the UK info, so the bit about 'provisional' drivers not being allowed is actually about what is effectively learners over there is (i.e. 18 years old learners are said to be on there provisional licence).
 
Hmmm that's weird. Because I asked Callum about that and he said that competitors must have a full, unrestricted licence.
 
Not sure. I asked Callum he said "We have a team working on background checks and they will make a ruling over the level of CAMS and other licenses"
It should be any CAMS at all but again we'll wait and see

Yeah I agree. It should just be a blanket policy on any CAMS licence.

Interesting how they rule, I have a feeling if you have a L2S or NS then they'll let you in though. Wait and see!

I used to have a L2S 4-5 years ago, but you can't do any door to door racing with that. Only spid pan / super sprints, so would be shocked if they did a blanket policy for CAMS licences.

It says national level racing aren't eligible, however I remember in the USA GT academy they had a national karting champion in the competition at Silverstone. So it seems a little inconsistent.


I currently have an AKA licence, so we'll see what happens with that.

EDIT : First server crashed after a 2nd track re-change. 2nd server decided to not give voice comms..., then crashed... quality!

Ill have a server up during the day today for those that have the day off, ill be Rotating with all the Nissan premium cars, might also chuck in a few Renaults incase they chuck a few surprises(given they are from same company).
