Jalopnik seemed to be indicating that it was a Chinese market, short wheelbase model, and may not be the best indication of what's coming to North America. That being said, Chevrolet is awfully damn happy to point out how the Cruze is near-enough the same globally, and has been a relative sales success everywhere. Maybe that'll be the case.
Problem is, the styling isn't just boring, it's downright derivative. You could easily shove a Dodge, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, or Toyota badge in there and it'd look right at home - elements from all of their C-segment cars are floating around. Worse yet, it makes the current Cruze look good by comparison, a car who's styling was already a little long in the tooth before it even showed up in America, years after it had been on sale internationally.
That interior looks pretty done-up, though. A nice departure from the disappointment you get with the 2014 Malibu - a bit more of a surprise like the 2014 Impala.
Overall, I'm more interested to see if it changes by the time it shows up here. I'd much rather like to think they'd try to make a mini Impala than an awkward midget Malibu.
