Front looks good, side looks like any other CLS but that rear end looks quite bad, even cheap. Same can't be said for the interior, that looks like a very inviting and luxurious place to be.

That looks supremely ungainly from the rear 3/4. I've never understood the appeal of the CLS — it's always looked like a downturned silver banana to me — but this one is even less classy than the previous generations.

The rear ends on all these droopy-coupes makes the car look pinched, which I suppose is appropriate.

That is not a pretty automobile. It makes the first gen model look like a work of art in comparison.

Before getting my Touareg a couple of weeks ago, I tries really hard to find a good deal on a CLS... the current (now previous) generation is a very good looking car IMO, with a super high quality interior.

Wouldn't have this one - the interior is nice enough (though not in the colours shown above),and the front end looks decent (in typical Merc fashion), but the rear looks like a CLA - squashed/out of proportion.

It seemed like someone in the design department realized all the main cars looked too round and decided some angles would make it look better.

Loving the engine choice, can't stand V6s.

I'm going to miss old school mechanical gauges, lcd screen pfff the hell with that.

Meh, the last one looks better in everyway except maybe interior.

So hopefully they'll be some sweet deals then on the old models? Got nearly $10k off my Sonata Hybrid during a clearout.

I'll join in and raise you all >>>bad looking car IMO and even the interior looks :yuck::crazy: and the wheels look small in comparison with the rest of the car.

Front end looks rather good though.

CLS 53 AMG unveiled at Detroit:

The highlight of the new model is of course the powertrain, which is comprised of a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 435hp and 383lb-ft (520Nm) of torque paired to an EQ Boost starter-alternator that can momentarily provide an additional 21hp (16kW) and 184lb-ft (250Nm) of torque. AMG has fitted the new straight-six engine with one regular turbocharger and one electric auxiliary compressor while the EQ Boost unit is mounted between the engine and transmission. The electric compressor offers high charge pressure without any delay when moving off with the help of the EQ Boost unit, enabling the 3.0-liter straight six engine to perform essentially without lag.

The new CLS 53 claims a 0-62mph (100km/h) in 4.5 seconds and a top speed up to 167mph (270km/h) while returning a combined 8.5lt/100km (27.6mpg).
