I wish there was a dedicated league...
Same. Other than the FIA races, it's all I've driven. Itching for next week's Daily SF19 races and Wednesday's SF19 FIA race.Haven't driven another car since
It has F1 levels of downforce, lower weight, and ‘only’ 650bhp. It’s difficult to unstick, but you can’t be reckless. The car is bloody fantastic, however, it grips way too much even on hards. I’ve barely lost control. Really easy to drive on the limit.
After spending a day with the Toyota the Honda felt easier to drive. Less understeer and not as twitchy on the exit.I bought both of them because I'm rich, but I've only driven one. Are they both exactly the same but with different engine sounds? Or do they actually perform different as well?
In use, they are amazing. I've always loved the high downforce cars, Gr.2, Gr.1, W08, Red Bull, etc.
So far feels very similar to the W08, just slower and maybe a bit more grippy, which is great.

I was under the impression that those are spec cars with just different engine manufacturers? The power/torque curve is exactly the same for both of them.
Haven't driven enough yet myself to form an opinion though.
There’s definitely a notable difference.I was under the impression that those are spec cars with just different engine manufacturers? The power/torque curve is exactly the same for both of them.

Honda has better turn-in but Toyota better high speed handling. Done lots of laps at Autopolis which really shows up the difference. I’m about 0.5s quicker in the Toyota, although that could be personal handling preference.
I have plenty enough sim experience to know there is a handling difference. When people have put in enough laps on a pure handling track like Autopolis. And start to find the limits on a consistent basis, the differences become ever clearer.Dude the SF19 is a spec chassis made by Dallara. The only difference between these 2 cars is the engine. Now, considering the engine alone, only 2 things could effect handling (engine weight and powerband.) However, these 2 stats are exactly the same between the 2 cars. Therefore, there is unequivocally zero handling difference between the two.
Sorry to say your half a second delta between the Honda and Toyota is entirely up to your own inconsistency. I personally would appreciate you not spreading misinformation like this as fact.

Super Formula do indeed use a spec chassis. While the engines have similar (if not identical) ‘official’ tech specs, they clearly deliver their power quite differently. Furthermore there will be numerous installation & weight distribution differences, however subtle. Whether PD have modelled this based on feedback, or just wanted to add a unique character to each car, is anyone’s guess.
If you don’t take my word for the handling difference, watch Tidgney’s stream from tonight. At the 1hr 14m mark onwards he switches from the Toyota to his favoured Honda.
As a pad user the Toyota suits my driving style to the point I am consistently quicker with it. Both on a long run and flying lap. There’s nothing unusual in that.So you say the Toyota is faster by (half a second!!!) and Tidgney says the Honda is better.... Tidgney of course being a World Tour entrant. Don’t you think he’d perceive the same humongous difference in lap times that you do?
With all of your ‘sim experience’ I’d hope you don’t actually believe that you can drive the Toyota that much faster just because of some silly turn of phrase like ‘personal driving style,’ do you?
