Obviously can't see much yet with these photos, but I will say as someone that has driven it....MILES better than the old car. Night and day difference. Better than the current Sentra IMO.

Yep, but my little cute Fiat 500 is also a cheap economy city car and is far from boring. :D
Yeah well, drivetrain might not be exciting but the improvements in refinement are nice. I'm considering getting one when they come out as a lease car to keep mileage off my Elantra Sport. I'm that impressed.

Nissan saw the serious effort Toyota had put into the Corolla to make it an actually interesting and exciting car.

And said "sure, we'll take the market they left behind."

The Mazda 2 (a.k.a. Yaris iA) is at a similar price point, is quite refined with taught suspension and excellent 6-speed auto.

To be fair that's not a bad strategy. It's basically what Dacia does over in Europe, hoovering up the low-end sales that every other maker abandoned when they all decided to go "premium".
There is definitely still a large market for low-frill, basic transport cars, and plenty of people in that segment would rather have something new they can buy outright, instead of being pushed into an off-lease car. And while that's not the most lucrative part of the market, it can be one of the most loyal if you deliver a solid vehicle.

It looks like it is going to be a boring car.
Just wait for it to be in one of those One Make Canadian races. ;)

Shoooooot.. 14k? If I was back in the states, I'd get one and make a little touring car.

The black door frames make it look old.

I take a white NISMO version is in the works. That would make it look better.

To be honest, for what this car is I was impressed the first time I drove it. Big improvement over the current car. Except the manual. Stay away from that.

Is the auto a CVT? Because I've heard Nissan CVTs are ticking time bombs and that they should be avoided as well, so...

I think it looks much better than its predecessor.

I agree.

I do like this new interior though. I feel the Start/Stop button, could be somewhere other than the ejector seat location.

Is it much of a bother to put it on the steering wheel?

Not really surprising anymore but now at least it's worth noting that it has become more upscale, which makes it on par with its present subcompact rivals from Honda and Toyota. ;)

It must be an Oled interior because the black is really black and not a greyish black. I rather like it.
