Poll added. Important for the integrity of the game, I think any fan of English football should care about this.

Bear in mind this is what punishment they will face, not what punishment they should face.

Kompany appointed Bayern Munich manager
Flick appointed Barcelona boss

That's two jobs sorted but the managerial window is still very interesting-looking:

Club Vacancies
Juventus
Barcelona
Bayern Munich
Chelsea

AC Milan
Brighton (I'd consider it a desirable job for a next-generation manager)

Managers Unemployed
Zinedine Zidane
Mauricio Pochettino
Jürgen Klopp
Roberto De Zerbi
Antonio Conte
Massimiliano Allegri
Thomas Tuchel
Xavi Hernandez
Graham Potter
Jose Mourinho
Jögi Löw

That's a lot of names and not a lot of top spots. And you can throw Manchester United's uncertainty in the mix as well.

Nope, not gonna happen.

Yet, is how that reads. You'd hope that even Red Bull wouldn't be daft enough to do that to a club like Leeds. I think if that was their goal then MK Dons would have been the target.

Interesting move no less. RB have lots of football involvement and some success as well with Leipzig.

What's the solution with Dons though? Milton Keynes is a big enough city to "deserve" a Football Team and it has a decent stadium to boot. Do you rebrand Dons as Milton Keynes FC and carry on? Do you rebrand as Milton Keynes FC and start from the bottom? Seems a bit stupid to put a 30,000-seater stadium in the 9th Tier for the sake of a rebrand.

It's been 22 years, everyone has learned from it that Franchise teams are not acceptable in the UK and it shouldn't happen again. AFC Wimbledon is now a thing and have overtaken them a few times, so we are reset in the right direction. It's time to get over it and accept that the current team in Milton Keynes is legitimately in the position they are now in.

TS. Should have founded your own team and invested in that. Shouldn't have built a white elephant with no team to put in it. There already was a Milton Keynes City Football Club but investing in the actual local team wasn't, um... marketable? Was too time-consuming? Looking for a shortcut and stealing someone else's team was never, ever going to be accepted. Plenty of other new towns have their own football teams; Stevenage and Crawley in particular have successfully made it to the Football League on their own merit.

Plenty of towns, some big, some important county towns, some not, don't have (successful) football teams; Wakefield, Dudley, Durham, Guildford, Worcester, Hereford, Chester, Gloucester, Nuneaton, Warwick.

The toothpaste cannot be put back in the tube but people simply won't forget the squeezing ever happened.

Football fans have a long memory. Milton Keynes will never gain acceptance.
Exactly. No heritage to destroy because no one cares, decent stadium, same town as your successful F1 team, no brainer surely?

Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid on a 'free' when his PSG contract expires on July 1st, thus ending the longest running transfer saga ever, the reason for the 'free' is that Real will pay a signing on fee to Mbappe of £85 million in installments.

Chelsea have appointed Enzo Maresca as their new head coach, Maresca joins from Leicester where he led them to the Championship title.

Manchester City about to sue the Premier League into submission. This should be fun.

Wolves were out voted 19-1!

Its like they said one day to the other clubs 'hey guys, here's an idea, lets scrap VAR! and the other 19 clubs were like 'Nope'!

Well, since VAR isn't going anywhere, what is the point of the assistant referee/line judge, and why does he still have a flagstick? He should have a tossable flag like NFL crews, or at least a beanbag to drop instead of holding up the flag. As all of you likely are aware, referees, umps, and line judges in the NFL have a small yellow flag that they throw on the spot of the foul for penalties, and they also carry a blue beanbag that they drop at the spot of a turnover. Something like that would serve to assist the video referee and VAR crew without interrupting the play. Players have to get used to not gesturing for a flag and glancing over at the line judge/assistant.

So is there going to be a thread for the Euros?

@Famine you did a thread for the last Euros and the World Cup, are you doing one for this Euros?

Man United have finally confirmed that Erik ten Hag will remain as their manager.

Its the right decision, he has one year left on his current contract and despite the diabolical league season I think the FA Cup win has earnt him the right to see out his final year, there are reports that he is going to sign a new deal which might make sense given the fact there is a regime change at the club and that his role might change, he could become a head coach and not a manager.

Perennial trivia answer Kevin Campbell has died aged 54 after a short illness. Millwall goalkeeper Matija Šarkić has also died, suddenly, at the age of just 27.

Grim news day.

So something fishy is going on with the transfers in the past couple of days between Premier League clubs.

Everton have signed Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa for a reported £9 million
Villa have just signed Lewis Dobbin from Everton for an undisclosed fee.
Chelsea are set to sign Villa youngster Omari Kellyman for £19 million.

All young players on inflated fees.

The reason? They are circumventing PSR rules and need to do so by the 30th June.

Its been a bit quiet on here lately hasn't it? I wonder why!

Well the two tournaments are coming to a close so the transfer and managerial stuff has picked up.

Scott Parker is the new Burnley manager.
Craig Bellamy is the new Wales manager.
Heimir Hallgrimsson is the new Ireland manager.

Bayern Munich have signed Joao Palhinha from Fulham for £42 million and Michael Olise from Palace for around £50 million.
Chelsea have signed a few players already which is now normal for them, Dewsbury-Hall has joined from Leicester for £30 million being the stand-out deal.
West Ham have signed Max Kilman from Wolves for £40 million.
Brighton have signed Dutch midfielder Mats Wieffer for £30 million.
Arsenal have signed David Raya on a permanent move for £27 million following his loan move from Brentford last season.
Everton have signed Iliman N'Diaye from Marseille for £15 million.

All Premier League clubs are now back in pre-season training, Championship clubs and lower have been back for a couple of weeks and have started with their friendlies.
