It's all so weird with Briatore beeing Doohans manager. Seems Flavio cashed out getting Jack a F1 seat and is now finished with his client.

Will be very interesting if these long lasting rumours around selling Alpine F1 completely will turn into reality in '26 or later. Let's not forget 24 per cent of the team's shares were sold to an investment group including Otro Capital, RedBird Capital Partners and Maximum Effort Investments in June 2023.

List of notable Alpine investors under Otro Capital

  • Ryan Reynolds - Canadian and American actor, producer and businessman
  • Rob McElhenney - American actor, writer, producer, podcaster and businessman
  • Michael B. Jordan - American actor and businessman
  • Rory McIlroy - Four-time golf major winner
  • Patrick Mahomes - 3x NFL Super Bowl champion
  • Travis Kelce - 3x NFL Super Bowl champion
  • Anthony Joshua - Two-time former unified world heavyweight champion
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold - Champions League and Premier League winner with Liverpool
  • Juan Mata - 2010 World Cup winner with Spain and former Chelsea and Manchester United star
  • Alexander Zverev - Tennis star

I wouldn't be surprised if Flavio also owns parts of the team as compensation for his efforts and is now only interested making it more valueable.

Wow that's a lot of notable people... What the hell are Alpine trying to achieve?

Makes more sense to have an investment fund which will provide more stable funding rather than rely on corporate funding which could be pulled at the next management change, or just not be paid at all if the company is dodgy. Especially when you consider the history of motorsports sponsorship is full of scumbags who never paid teams what they promised.

Also keep in mind that people who put their money into investment funds may not know or even care where the money is going specifically, so long as they're getting returns on their investment. So it's very likely all those actors and football stars aren't aware that at least some of their money is funding a middling Formula 1 team.

There's another picture from a different angle that hits even harder.

He knows EXACTLY what he's doing and he nails it.

I can't help but feel like all of the Hamilton and Ferrari thing is being blown way out of proportion. I get that he is statistically the most successful driver in F1 and that Ferrari is also the most successful team in F1 but all of this stuff just seems too much.

What happens then if they don't have a good car next year or starts the new regulations in 2026 on the back foot or if Leclerc categorically wipes the floor with him? Don't get me wrong, I wish him great and continued success and I hope that move to Ferrari will reinvigorate him and help him clinch that 8th title and continue to break records but all of this fan fare is just a bit wild to me.

I wonder what Leclerc is thinking as he sees all of this unfold? I mean he is being treated as the future of Ferrari and to see Lewis come in with all of this - which I'm guessing they haven't really done for anyone else before him - it's got to be a bit puzzling. Also, if Ferrari is doing all this for Hamilton, spending that much money on his contract and other stuff....surely he's not just going to be #2 driver to Leclerc? I guess time will tell.

If they do have a good car next year and both drivers get on well with it, the constructors championships will be theirs to lose because I do think they have the strongest driver pairing on the grid.

I mean… you’re asking the question and answering it yourself there.

But what exactly is too much here?

They’ve done the Enzo house photos for all their recent stars, including Charles - Lewis just has more style than those guys. Leclerc probably happy that someone else is doing the media stuff today, he must get so fed up of it all.

They way they are trying to hype this is what I feel is too much.

I did see some of those shots in the past but didn't think they were actual photoshoots. I just thought they were taking some candid shots! Meanwhile Lewis just look at the Godfather about to attend every other teams funeral.

Nonsense. Every team has photoshoots with their drivers. Go to the Insta page of any team to find a million of those.
The reason this one is blowing up is because it’s:

1. The most successful driver of all time (who is very stylish)
2. At the most successful team of all time.
3. A cool foto.

Don’t know why this is rubbing you the wrong way.

I just glanced at this picture, and the next thing I know I'm at the bottom of the sea, wearing concrete boots, next to a severed horse's head:

Didn't take him long to slot right in. Killer look.

It is gonna be interesting to watch, especially considering Vasseur is more then familiar with both Leclerc AND Hamilton even before becoming team principal at Ferrari. While I definately am not getting my hopes up for a suddenly championship surge, I also remember the last time I bet against a Hamilton move to a different team...and ended up wrong at least 6 times

Like I said, its not necessarily the photo, it's the whole hype they are trying to build around the whole thing. Yes, they are 2 of the most successful entities in the sport but it doesn't change the fact that this is F1, people come and go, people in their prime eventually fades away. To me, they are hyping this up as if Lewis is just about to reach his peak years at Ferrari and we should all get ready to witness the next chapter of him obliterating everyone for the next few years while he drives a Ferrari.

Anyway, I rest my case. All I'll say is while I have my doubts, I'm still very much interested in how this whole thing plays out so time will tell.

There aren't many things that deserve lots of hype, this switch is one of them. Lewis is still one of the very best, then and now.
