I’m not sure whether this warrants a post or if it belongs merged in an ongoing thread, if its the latter, my apologies.

I decided to wait for the next update on whether or not to engine swap the Lancia Delta. With my luck, it would be nerfed in a patch immediately after trying. In the meantime I’ve been using the DP-100 in a variety of configurations. Before this morning I’ve only been able to achieve 25:30’s with 2:03’s as the fastest lap, with the usual strategy of skipping any pit stops.

This morning a tried a wildly different tune and the pics below are from my second attempt, with a fastest lap of 1:54.849 and finishing in 23:50.341 I still lost time over filling at the pit stop, finishing with nearly a 1/4 tank of gas.

EDIT: Yes, sorry if it was originally misleading, this absolutely involved wall riding, a ton of it. This is not as fun (or legit) of a drive as I was doing before; it’s simply the fastest way I’ve figured out to finish for credits

EDIT(2): The setup is as follows:

  • Intermediate Tires in Rear and Comfort Hard in the Front.
  • TCS = 0
  • Fuel Map = 1 (Full Power)
  • Pit at the end of Lap 3, Filling tank completely is just enough gas to finish the race while staying Fuel 1
* Only Rear Tires will burn out but they cannot be changed as 4 Intermediates go over pp limit.
- Short Shifting about the same as previous setups
Into 4th @ 96-100mph
Into 5th @ 125mph
Into 6th @ 163mph
Into 7th @ 200-205mph (Usually right after finishing a lap for the straight, gets to around 219)

* It’s basically all wall riding as there’s very little control over any steering. When going from one side to another I steer in hard to get over and turn other direction to align with the bend the best I can. The hairpin in 2nd gear blipping throttle just to align car then straight into 3rd. It’s the most awkward part of the lap.

Hope that helps shave a few minutes chasing credits. It may not be as fun of a regular drive but nice to switch things up a bit, as ridiculous as it is.

Im hoping to provide the relevant information absent from the original post for those who‘ve already viewed it, finding nothing helpful or informative.

After re-reading, I felt the lack of useful information came across as merely boasting to elicit some form of praise, which was not my intention. It missed the mark on my goal to share a new option I found for quickly grinding credits.

** I’m only writing this (rather than just making an additional edit) for those who have already viewed for additional info. Please revisit the top post for more information**

P.S. pedroco, yes they stay in perfect condition the whole time. As bald as the rear‘s get it doesn’t change too much, just couple seconds as any real turning with this setup in almost non existent.

You can run 24.2x/1.55 best lap with the Cappichino/Wankle engine swap car and no wall riding. That time includes a stop for tires and 4 laps worth of fuel. I was running same 2.03 best lap with Aston and no wall riding so it doesn't take extreme skill.

Nice!
I’m familiar with that swap and just received the RX-7 engine… Like the Lancia, my plan was to wait until after the next update to make a decision. I’d like to see if anything gets nerfed or if new interesting cars become compatible with the engines I have.

I was just sharing an alternative for those who don’t have either the engines to swap or legendary cars like the a220.

Maybe something got lost in translation? This was merely a reference to the time savings from the same person using the same car. I’m certain that both tunes have plenty of room for improvement in fastest lap and overall times.

Regular Tune & Regular Driving: 25:30’s with 2:03

Crazy Tires Tune & Wall Riding: 23:50 with 1:54

I've never run this with the A220 for what it's worth. Quite a few folks have discovered this race is easy with several cars straight outta Brand Central. Try that at Spa or Sardegna and the AI will send you home with some extra racing stripes.
Props to the sub 24 minute time. I may never go that fast, but I'm happy with my times.
My fastest lap time is 2:05 and change. I've run several of those with and without wall contact penalties turned on (I can't get that time if I hit the wall though). Keep in mind PD may re activate that or pull the CRB if we hit the wall.
Otherwise, though, very cool!

After reading this I immediately had a feeling the 23 minute runs may soon come to an end. From what i’ve read, you were right.

Your post convinced me to take advantage of that ridiculous tune while I still could, collecting an additional 30-35 million credits before the update came.

After making some purchases I was able to start 1.26 with a nice cushion of 55 mil. It made the Tokyo news feel less disappointing

Thank you for bringing it up 👍

PS. I had only heard about the A220 Glitch previously. I just got the car when it came out in legendary recently, before the update. I’m not sure if its been patched but my first try of it was a total nightmare, particularly with the ground wet in first few laps

This is one reason why there should be no online requirement for single player. Every race run can phone home with a summary of how it went.
Eventually they'll nerf all the grinds. I'm not sure which one will be next, from the look of it it'll probably be Le Mans, then Sardegna, and Spa last. I'm not sure if they'll change the payout at Road Atlanta.
GT7 is considered a "game as a service", meaning if you want to progress, you're expected to pay in. I'm too stubborn for that and am far enough along in the game that I can afford to sit back and save credit, 550k at a time, and still keep up with the trickle of new cars and finish cleaning out all three dealerships. I have 8 cars to go from Hagerty, I've cleaned out all the American dealers, all the Korean dealers, and Auto Plus. If any of those get new cars in an update, I go win credits and "buy" them right away.
