If it was anyone of the other Peugeots (or Poojeots as the Yanks seem to think) chasing down the lead Audis, I might be more inclined, but as it's Davidson's team...go Audi! :)

If my calculations are correct (albeit very rough), the Audi should be able to hold on to their lead, although very barely.

If Peugeot are anything near the reckless 'Sprint race' pace they've been on previously it's going to be hard to keep them behind. However the consistent and also fast pace that Audi is known for should help them in these last few hours. Then there is the fact that 3 hours remain, so anything could happen yet.👍

I'd rather neither diesel won to be honest though, AMR not;) for the win.

What did Anthony Davidson say about the Corvette crash? I missed his interview.

Some quotes...

"It serves them right"

"im not going to be put off by anyone"

"Im coming through weither they like it or not"

"they should know Im on a charge out there"

"and im trying to win this damn thing"

"its not my fault"

"Its his fault"

So I get out of bed, only to wake up and find out half the field at Le Mans has retired and Audi will be winning this AGAIN. Man, I'm never going to bed ever again when Le Mans is on!

Just noticed there has only been 2 P2 retirements. Amazing show from that class I must say! They used to be the weakest of the classes and have more DNF´s than the other classes.
And on the other side of the coin is GT1. What a mess! 3 cars left right now, and they´re running way back in the field. Sad to see GT1 go out in this fashion, as they are my fave type of cars.

They have 3 hours to make up close to 4 mins. there running about 4 seconds faster then the Audi's. You complete about 3 laps every 10 mins. That means there making up about 1 minute and 14 seconds every hour so in 3 hours he will have made up around 3 mins 42 seconds. He will be short as long as Audi keeps a decent pace and makes no mistakes.

How is it supposed to be pronounced. My dad calls it Poogeot, but I usually pronounce the beginning like bow, but with a P, instead of a B.

I know, such a sad swan song for GT1 at le mans:tdown:, it's very upsetting seeing the legends such as the C6R and DBR9 strangled by regulations and being beaten by GT2 cars. The fact that it will have taken 10 years (if it wins) for the Saleen S7R to win the race it was created for is also sad.:( GT1 as we used to know it will be dead after this race has ended, the cars just don't fit this discipline anymore.:(

Agreed...but they won't win, clearly...;)

Some quotes from me:

"What a complete c*ck."

And from John Hindy:

"He drove like a d*ck."

Seriously, that's plain arrogance. Does he not realise that there are actually other drivers out there running their races? It's not all exclusively revolving around their Peugeot vs Audi battle y'know. Lot of respect has been lost for the top-level prototype teams in this race from my perspective.

Ditto. I may as well go back to bed now :(

EDIT: Silent Drifter, I've always pronounced it as 'Per-gee-o" with the final T kinda silent. Funny word to pronounce, to be fair I can understand the American's pronounciation, it just sounds funny as I'm used to it being said as I say above.

Too right. Very sad state of affairs. Another series strangled by regulations...and it appears it might well be about to happen to Prototypes, if it's not happening already.

Very sad, they've always been my favourite class.

Also, trouble for #15 Kolles car, did I hear that right?

I posted this a 6am

Wait until all the sleepy heads come back, there's going to be alot of people wishing they stayed with it.

And a hell of alot has happened since then too.

My sentiments exactly.

As I've already said, the GT2 class and to a lesser degree GT1 class were what I cared about more than the Prototypes in the first place, given they're actually based on production road cars and they're something I can relate to. Too have some cocky Prototype driver ruin my favourite entry's likely victory is frustrating to say the least, for the driver of said Prototype to then go on to have that attitude, well........

Yup, ditto. Absolutely agree. It's the original spirit of sportscar racing, as in, you have real-world sportscar that one can buy in a showroom and run on the road - look at the mid-60s GT40, that was a car one could buy potentially to drive on the road, although not many were built. Prototypes are fantastic, but especially now they appear to be getting very cocky and "oh noone else matters but our precious diesels"...it doesn't go down well.

Sad times :(

Bah, I say drop the Prototypes from Le Mans all together, return GT1 to its glory days of the '90s with required homologation models actually sold to the public numbering in the hundreds, then drop GT2 as well and just use GT3 for the second class.

Yeah, I pronounce it how James May pronounces it in Top Gear. Since I watch a lot of Top Gear, I guess that's where I get my pronunciation from.

Last year I would have agreed with you(I didn't like the Prototypes then). But I like the mix of cars now. It's still an awesome idea though, if it were still viable these days.👍

Hell yes, with beautiful cars like the Mercedes CLK-GTR, Toyota GT-One (), Nissan R390, even the Dauer homologated 962! Awesome...

Actually, let's still have a prototype class, the only regulation itll have will be around fuel economy, and we'll call it Group C...:sly:

I think the #75 Porsche is due for going off track again, or did they realize that 14 year old wasn't really a professional race car driver?
