When a competitors car fails in sport car racing everyone feels the pain, when one Fails in F1 everyone cheers.

I don't know why, but this is the SPECIALITY of 24 Hours of Le Mans. Again, I said this earlier in the morning and I want to say again, this makes me want to forget F1

Damn it! Not another one! Audi are so boring! Why do they have to win every time?!

Because they are organised, reliable and consistent? Admitdly they are going to only win this race (If they do win, anything could still happen) due to being right on the tail of Peugeot and Peugeot pushed too hard. I'd say well done to Audi, out of the two Diesels I preferred Audi, of course I would have prefferred Aston to win but the chances of that were slim.

But hey! Aston Martin 009 is going to move up another position :D I'm dissapointed how Young Driver have done it seems reliability issues have really hindered it. 👎

Not true, if the Audi's all went out right now, people would most certainly be cheering the Aston-Lola on!
Its just Peugeot is the people's favourite it seems because of the Audi-domination of past years.

Really, this has been a great Le Mans, a lot of incidents and a great race to the flag until the No.1 Peugeot went out.

It is no different to F1, I laugh when people say this as if to talk up how great Le Mans is. Le Mans doesn't need to be talked up, its always been great but there are fans of all cars, teams and drivers and of course people are going to be sad when their favourite car goes out or when the only rivals have gone out.

People don't cheer in F1 if, for example, McLaren go out of the race and Red Bull were left to go to victory. They certainly didn't when Ferrari were dominating. Obviously the Ferrari and Red Bull fans do though.

What does that make Anthony Davidson? The Bobba Fett of Le Mans? I'm no Star Wars expert...:dunce:

Nah i'd say a bad Han Solo. ;)

All we need now is for all the Audi's to blow up and we'll be sorted.:)
For now i'm focusing on GT1 & 2, i'll be dead chuffed if the Larbre competition Saleen wins GT1.👍

Yep that was a disappointment for the Pugs this year, one component simply wasn't good enough to make the distance. Makes you wonder if the 4th car that retired due to chassis damage would have had the same issue had it still been in the race.
At least it looks like the Saleen will take out GT1, so I was right with at least one class of racing with my predictions/who I was going for!

I'm not talking about this thread or the crowd, I'm talking about the pit lane, Audi should've been jumping around with joy but they didn't, they looked as disappointed as Peugeot.

+10:tup:

So who else has been up for the whole 24 hours? Man am I tired.

Well, I had about 15-30 minute nap around midnight so that helped, but other than that, I've been up 23 hours for me. Plus the excitement of all the accidents and break downs during the night woke me up more.

I'm pretty sure this applies to F1 too. I don't recall many teams jumping for joy in F1. Maybe the odd smile but then Audi are probably smiling right now too...

They are professional race teams and they don't go to such arrogant lengths. Plus the race isn't over yet.

Now we know why Peugeot where not pushing & trying to stretch the lead....something ominous must have been showing up on the telemetry when the car was pushed into the sub 3:22's

Not me, got some sleep during the night and single-handedly missed the Corvettes retirement/getting in the way of the Peugeot ;)

EDIT: Damnit, I haven't jinxed another team have I?

You know this has really been quite a poor showing for most teams this year, far too many retirees, even if some were seemingly indirectly caused by a certain Pug driver.....

Oh, for the love of...

There goes the #009 Aston Martin.

P.S. Live timing must be messed up; according to it, the #4 is still on track and the #1 hasn't retired, either.
