Hey guys whats up?, but anyways can someone answer me this. Isnt it true that the 240's and the rx-7's are the best cars for drifting all around. first of all they have great drivetrains to start of with and then they have great bodys and chassis to work and tweak on. and im not even gonna talk abouth all the great parts that we have for our cars.So if any 240 or rx-7 drifter or owners have anything to say or add to this please feel free too.

HOLLA!! AT THE NEW YORK STATE DRIFTERS OUT THERE.
HOLLA!!! AT THE KID TORU

umm....holler! at you.

s13's and the other popular drifters are only popular because they are cheap. thats it. plain and simple.

the viper is even a good "drift car". tarzan drives one, in case you didnt know.

any car can be used for drifting...so to classify certain cars as 1337 drifters is kind of lame. you drift the machine, it doesnt drift you. that rule goes for all cars as well....obviously.

this is kind of an immature topic, and im sure the mods will offer you some advice on posting (if they havent done so while i am typing this). i try not to flame people too much.

Welcome to GTPlanet.

ok wise guys i know that the skill level of the driver is important and that anybody could drfit with any car, cuz theres some ricer asss people out there who swear that they're drifting with ff cars like civics (so for all of u people out there who do and think that,ur not drifting ur dragassing)but i was saying that most of the good drifters drift with nissans or mazdas, when i say that i mean 240's and rx-7's. so you guys let your mouth slip a little too quick so next time think and really analyse what you saying before u type it.

ur dragassing)
You mean assdragging?
Anyways, that's not true. FF-drifting wouldn't be called FF-drifting if it was "assdragging". I'd like to see you make an "assdrag" in 70 mph.

I'd really like to see that.

Holla, or whatev.

The D1GP professional drivers are given these types of JDM car so that when all the drift fans see these guys in these cars they say..." Oooh look at those guys in their cars, I need that exhaust/spoiler/boost gauge etc."

The best D1 guys use these cars because the average 18-25 car fan likes/drives/desires a JDM car like a RX7 or Silvia so the brands can make a whole new "Drift" product range and make a a$$ load of money from it. The guys see the product on the D1 car, then go straight out and buy it for there car.

It's a marketing thing, look at the new Mustang that's is/will be in the D1GP, that's not a RX7 or Silvia is it? It goes well, it's all about the driver behind the wheel being a competant driver and knowing his car's balance well.

exactly. like i said before...the only reasons why the silvias and 86's, etc, are because they are the cheapest/most availible/biggest aftermarket FR cars out there.

the D1 cars are NOTHING like their market counterparts....besides the outer body shell. it's all just a marketing ploy anyway. thats what sponsorships are for anyway.

oh yeah....dragassing....thats funny.

I guess I'll take the holla.... or whatever, since I'm from NY, though I'm not dumb enough to drift, oh sorry "dragass" in my car on the streets. The proliferation of nissans and rx-7 and toyotas has been the result of price verses potential. You can buy an ae-86 for incredibly cheap, and for just as little turn it into a great handleing car. Again the silvias and the rx-7 are not incredibly expensive and have tons of potential in all areas. The best car? I'd have to say that the best car would be.....a.......ehmmm.......I really can't say. The car has to match the driver. I've always thought that high torque engines would be great for drifting, light weight is essential, good suspension is a must have. Though they might not be traditional, a viper or c6 sound to me like a good fit.

OK, I think that this question has been answered, and so I'm going to close the thread before the flaming gets out of hand.
