a simple question really... but when i drift with my ae86 its a LOT harder than with the rx7. why? what makes it so different? is it weight, or power, etc?

i find my trueno easier to drift, but in the middle of the drift, i guess it does get a lil hard. I think i sorta get wut ur talkin about....the trueno tends to wanna spinout cuz of the hatchbackyness i think....maybe someone more technical can help u out =P

you may not have enough power, or you may be using the wrong tires. an AE86 and RX-7 are very different in terms of their power..the rx-7 with its turbo power is much easier to spin the tires, while the AE86 has to be well into the powerband on the tach to generate enough power to get the wheels spinning. they are both balanced similarly though. different cars just have different attitudes...

depends on how muhc power ur packin with the AE, 200 should b sufficient, all i did was buy all mod except 4 turbo, and jsut a NA atage 2 tune-up, then slap sum Sims on it and ur off, oh also make sure to turn off ASM and TCS, and lower ur car to the max, it gives it less roll, 2ndly, its mainly power and how ur conotrolling it, if ur steping on the gas the whole drift ur bound to spin out or loose control, not enuf gas will get u goin straight again, its all about practice and once ur confortable with that car, u wont have any problems

Well, the 86 is runin on 250hp w/ 2nd stage turbo w/ sim tires. of course my tcs and acm are both off, and the car has been reduced in weight. the rx-7 is stock except for the sim tires. It just feels like the fc has more grip. it regains traction easier or something. i dunno

well it depends on what you mean by easy... i have always found that the un wieght reduced ae86 to intiate drift in a more fantastic way... i mean it just feels unstable all hte time... which is what i like... you may think this as bad or harder... the fc feels the same as the 86 but is slightly easier to control for some reason... prolly its lower center of gravity... i drive with one with no weigt redu either... the fd however is a much more stable car esp in stock form... prolly couase that is what it was designer to be...
