Ok, I've read everything on this and I have a few questions. Is it possible to race in b-spec, time warp, go to sleep and wake up w/ a win or will your tires be gone and lose? And will this fry my PS2? Thx in advance.

yes you can, b-spec bob pits on his own every couple of laps depending on what car tires and speed u have the b-spec set on. what i would do is start it a couple hours before you go to bed and watch it with X3 speed so that u can get a couple hours worth of the race done then go to bed with it on speed 1 or 2 with overtake. you will need to go back in the morning and turn the time speed back up though because it changes back to real time after a pit

it depends on which race, go to the race reports forum and look at the guides, they should tell you about pits and that sort of thing. if you just want to win the race and dont care about A-spec points you can just pick a car that will destroy the AI and then you wont have to worry about amount of pits.

Out of curiousity, why would you think that PD would make a race - or in fact THREE races - which would "fry" a PS2 if you attempted them?

You can set B-Spec to triple speed. However, when he pits - which he will do - you'll find that the game resets to normal speed. So it's possible to get it done in just over 8 hours, but only if you sit and nurse the B-Spec driver and put it back to 3x speed every time he pits.

What to A-Spec points get you anyways, can't find the answer in the FAQ's.

18. What are A-Spec points/ how do I maximize them?

I won Nurburgring 24 h this way because I haven't got time for racing. it is very usefull when you have much better car. when your car is similar it will be better to go on A-spec. I have a problem with Sarthe 24h without chicanes. I tried on B-spec using Minolta, using Sauber C9, R92CP, R89C and much more. through racing bob lost control on long road without chicanes. I don't know why but it looks like front wheels block and make car hit the band. How can I eliminate it. Is it because I'm low on B-spec oints or the car isn't prepared for this race?

Your answers appear to be all answered, but just to add to the point about the risk of "frying" your PS2 by leaving your PS2 on over night letting B-spec do a 24 hour race for you.

I've done several 24 hour races in A-spec, pausing the game between 1-2 hour stints, thus sometimes it meant having my PS2 running non-stop for a couple weeks at a time. I have also run far more 24 endurance races in B-spec, especially the Nurb when I was trying to get all the different colored FGT cars.

In addition, my PS2, while not the original release model, is also pretty old. I think I got it in the summer of 2001, so about 9 months after it was released in the US. There is no build date, only a code: 1B and model number: SCPH-30001

So besides having an old PS2, and besides leaving it running for weeks at a time on the rug floor of my home office... hardly a great place for air circulation, and I've only cleaned it once about a year ago when it didn't read my WRC game disc... even though it was very dusty it turned out the problem was the disc which I replaced and works just fine. I have not once had a single problem with my PS2, so I seriously doubt you would ever risk hurting your PS2 by keeping it running for over a week at a time. 👍

Im currently doing nurburgring 24 hour right now, only got 2 hourse left. I usually like to start this type of race before I go to bed so Most can be done while I sleep. I just wish you could fast foward a little faster, but its all good. I currently pitted 108 times! LOL only because for some odd reason I chose to use the F1 car which you all know has medium tires, not a good choice but hey, I am ahead by 36 laps lol.

To be honest, one of the great things I found in GT4 was finding things on my own, as well as trying different combinations and see where they got me.

Trying out a game/race knowing how everything will be makes it so boring. Predictability = boredom.

Then try looking next time. Seriously. Item 18, stickied at the top of this board.

Really, we appreciate that you're a new member and probably a young one at that, but please be considerate of our time and really make an effort to answer your own questions. Read what's already here. It is clear from your questions that you have not done so, even though you claim that you have.

If you are A-Specing these endurance races, you can open your disc tray after you start the race to reduce the chance of frying your PS2. The game will still play.

Today I've finished sarthe 24 h. I was driving Polyphony Formula.
first day I played 2 hours. I was first and Mazda 787B was 2 laps behind me. I let Bob drive all night. when I woke up i switched on TV and I was disappointed. Bob was fourth an It was 17,40'xxx. I started to go on my own. I have come on first place after 5 hours and I have to leave PS2 for night. Today when I woke up I finished the race and Ps2 wasn't hot. you don't need to be worry about PS2 when your room is 20 - 23 degrees in celsjus scale.
