25th Anniversary Edition Disc Edition vs Digital Deluxe Edition Credits difference

I am tempted to get one of the 25th Anniversary Editions of Gran Turismo 7. The only big difference I can see between the Disc and Digital Versions is the credits you start with. If you preorder the Disc Version you get 1,100,000 credits but if you preorder the Digital Version you get 1,600,000 credits. Is 500,000 credits difference a lot in Gran Turismo? Does it give you a massive headstart? Is it worth going Digital instead of Disc for this reason or is 1,100,000 credits still enough to get started with?

The big difference between Disc and Digital versions is you get a disc (and a steelbook) with the Disc version, and not with the Digital version. The Digital version is only a download - and it's also the only version you can play if you have a PS5 Digital Edition.

Of course that also means you either have to go into the store or wait for your postman before you can put the Disc version into the disc drive and wait while is installs AND updates, but the Digital version will be available at (probably) 0001 on March 4th and you can get it downloaded and running before your postie's even on his first cup of coffee.

That aside, no, it's probably not a lot of credits. We don't know how GT7's economy - how much money things cost vs how much time it takes to make money will work yet, but as a quick guide, GT Sport's is the worst economy ever in any Gran Turismo game, and 500,000cr represents the cost of a single Gr.3 race car and would take you about 20 minutes of gameplay if you're going at it the most effective way you can; in GT6 it's about how much it would cost to buy every part available for two cars. That said, you have to get pretty far into the game to get to that point, but I'm not sure it will offer that much more of a head start.

I already knew about the steelbook case and the pros/cons of the disc vs digital. I’m just thinking about the credits. I’m really torn. I know this sounds silly but is it likely you could run out of 1.1 million credits? I’m just thinking worst case scenario. I bought Gran Turismo Sport Spec II on the PlayStation Store 2 years ago and I got 2.5 million credits with that and that was plenty. I don’t know if that helps at all?

If you prefer physical, go for that. I’m willing to bet that the additional 500,000 is not much at all in the grand scheme of things. It certainly isn’t in GT Sport and I wouldn’t expect a grand revamp of the economic system.

In that case, is it worth just buying the Standard Edition then? Is 100,000 credits enough?

Well I've noticed how expensive the upgradeable brakes are by themselves I would guess the 100,000 and the 1,500,000 would be easily used up.

The price is not in USD I think, that's why it seems so expensive
No Gran Turismo game has prices in US Dollars. Or any other real-world currency.

The screenshot is, however, from a Japanese version of the game where values are all two orders of magnitude higher - and always have been. In non-Japanese versions, that would be 8,500cr.

Yeah, I was thinking that. Then again in the tuner shop video, the player name has a US flag next to it

They're pre production shots. I'm not sure why you're so adamant about those being representative of final prices.
Here's a shot from some days later. I doubt a crankshaft is going to cost >200x more than a custom transmission, but that's just me.

I'm not being adamant about anything, I was just taking a shot in the dark. I'm not saying the prices are final or anything lol.

Would probably be useful at the start but not long after (like many pre order bonuses are) , however I'm sure there'll be a whole host of events that can be exploited as Cr./XP farms if you're looking for that.

I know I'll be sacrificing those beautiful museum 20,000,000 Cr. + cars for "what's the meta this week online" 😅
