266 & 333mhz ddr ram?

if my mobo supports 200/266mhz ddr ram, and i got some ram that was 333mhz, would it still be compatible up to the 266mhz or would it not work at all? Just curious..found a pretty good deal on a 512mb stick of DDR, but its 333mhz so i dont know it'll work in my mobo or not

Yes, the 333 MHz RAM (PC2700) is compatible with a 266 MHz FSB motherboard, but it will only run at 266 MHz.

All i needed to know, thanks Officemax is runnin a pretty good deal this week on a 512 stick of Kingston ddr ram. 100 bucks, but you get a 30 dollar instant rebate = 70 bucks, plus an additional 20 dollar mail in rebate = 50 bucks...I may just have to purchase a stick...i WAS gonna try and pay my credit card down a little before i threw more money on it...but why should i do that? haha

I just saw the ad in the paper. That is a good deal. I just might get me another stick, it will bump me up to 1024 MB of system memory.

yeah, i'll probably get another stick some time in the future, but i think 512 should hold me right now. im runnin 512mb of sdram right now w/ no problems

👍 Yep. I'm doing that on my PC right now. Have been for quite a number of months now. My motherboard will handle PC2100 and PC1600. I accidently bought a PC2700 stick but I put it in and it works just fine but like VZ said it only runs at 266Mhz.

Send me a stick! I went yesterday and they were sold out of the DDR. You should of ordered from newegg.com. That's the only place I order computer parts online.

i know, newegg rocks. i ordered a case, and one led fan from them, and 3 days later it was at my door. then i ordered another led fan, some round UV reflective cables and a black light from another site because they had cheaper prices, plus i couldnt find any uv cables or anything on newegg.....but its been a week now and even after 2 emails sent to them they havent responded yet about the status of my order. Im about 2 days away from calling my credit card and telling them to put a reverse charge on my order....

👍 thanks man. I called my CC company up today and it seems for some reason for another the order never was even charged to my account!!! Now..whether that fault lies w/ me or the compnay i placed the order with is not the issue. The issue here is what my point has been the whole time, as a company you need to be in constant communication with your customer!!!! After 2 emails i sent them with no response, how the hell was I to know what was going on? If i didnt take any initiative on my end and actually call my CC company, i'd still be sitting here twiddling my thumbs. So I sent them a very nasty email that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and place my order at frozencpu.com instead I got a few clear round UV cables, a 12" UV cold cathode light, blue quad LED 80mm UV reactive fan, and a sweet case grill for my side fan this one to be exact

I also kicked in some extra cash for the 2nd day air shipping cuz my patience has been completly burned out from that other site. So im trusting you viperzero....my **** better get here in a timely fashion or its your ass!

well that settles it. within 2 hours of placing my order at frozencpu i got an email saying my order had shipped, and should arrive somtime on monday 👍 woo hoo!! Thank you VZ for recommending them, i will DEFINENTLY order from them again.

Mine sure does. dont worry, come monday i'll definently be posting some pics up of my new system, i have the case and one fan right now, im just waiting on the other crap to come. the case already has a blue neon tube inside that you can always have on, or set it to pulse w/ music, and the fan is a tri-blue led fan w/ one red led that linked up to the hard drive indicator so it flashes whenever the hard drive is accessed like the led on the front panel would. plus its got like a "bubble light" thing on each side of the front panel that changes color, its such a sweet case, looks awesome right now w/ just the neon and one fan. its gonna look killer once i get everything else in there
