Dont bother
I have a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6). I start in 2nd gear then at 15mph or so shift to 3rd. It runs steady 9.290 - 9.295. If I set it up to launch in 2nd, and hold the revs without quickshifting into 3rd, will I get a better time?

I have better luck holding 2nd gear, but it's sometimes hard to judge when to shift to 3rd because the RPMs jump suddenly after the tires grip.

Ive also noticed that if its set wrong your tires grip too well after they warm up and you no longer get to "hold" the revs in 3rd. Instead it bogs because of the grip.

Personally 2nd gear launch for me. Set up my 2nd gear so that it revs up to redline, holds it, then drops ~100rpm so I know when to shift every time.

I have a few tunes that if I shift perfectly to 3rd the tires will hook up and I'll lunge forward. Its kind of in the middle of letting it run to redline and short shifting. I don't really know how to better explain it. It almost looks like online lag. You just need to pay attention to your speed. Also have a few that the rpm drop slightly as Trybal said and shift then. Its just a matter of trial and error to see what works best.

Redline huh? That seems a little high considering the powerband.. mine floats around 7k.
