My lvl 21 B-Spec driver J. Hendrix was making me bang my head on the wall trying to win that Cote d'Azur race. The Chaparral 2J started in front of me every time and rocketed away, never to be caught again. No matter what I did to the suspension, J. Hendrix just couldn't catch him. The Chaparral would consistently hit the corners at 5mph faster and could slowly pull away on the straights, generally his lap times were 2 seconds ahead of mine. That Chaparral can hit a 1:40, but I found a setup that had B-Spec hitting 1:38 laps while he was orange! :sly:

Ride height:
F -40, R -40
Springs:
F 13.6, R 11.8
Dampers:
F 7, R 7 extension
F8, R 8 compression
Anti-roll bars:
F 6, R 6
Camber:
F -3.0, R -2.0
Toe:
F 0.00, R -0.25
Brakes:
F 7, R 7

Here's the kicker, while the suspension helped there was another trick that helped win this race (easily maybe not, but it can get the job done). You will need the stage 3 turbo upgrade, some people say that the stage 2 is better for this track because of the added but from what I found it still won't keep up with the sucker car or that Toyota prototype. You need to get the stage 3 turbo and drop the gears to 142mph top speed. The idea was that you need to be able to maximize every ounce of that higher top end coming out of the corners. Even though the 2J is faster through the corners, with this setup the P4 can pull out of the corners harder. The car is going to bounce off the rev limiter on the straights, but dropping the gears shaved 3 seconds off of the best lap time J. Hendrix posted prior.

Don't get stuck behind the C2 Corvette, if you can't pass him before the chicane restart. Ignore the Toyota 7 and its starting position, it becomes a non-factor with this setup. Get out in front of the pack as fast as possible on the first half of the first lap, I have noticed there's about a 1 in 5 chance of the 2J dumping it on the chicane. If this happens you will win this race as long as you can keep it from passing you on the last lap, which shouldn't be hard you just need to monitor B-Spec and keep him going all blue (although if today is one of your lottery winning days the 2J will get stuck behind the Corvette never to be seen again). But there you have it, a Ferrari P4 setup that will allow B-Spec to consistently run faster lap times than the Chaparral 2J around Cote d'Azur!

Just as a side note, my lvl 21 B-Spec won this race with 2nd place 23.795 seconds behind using this setup. And he was all pissed off orange at the time.

Okay so what car are we suppose to use this on? Any and all cars? Or is there something in particular you used, because you never stated the vehicle you used to win.

The car is in the thread title, the Ferrari P4. :)

Thanks so much for this setup, I was finally able to beat the Historic race at Côte d'Azur!
I was able to take 1st position by the first turn and I never looked back.

The only think that I needed to change was the transmission top speed to 155 so I wouldn't top on the straights.

It was such a good race that I just had to save the replay.

The lap times I was hitting were absurd. I watched the 2J hit 1:40 all over me in several races, so when I had B-Spec hitting consistent 1:38 laps I had to post the setup. Best time so far was a 1:37.062 in A-Spec.

But I set it up to purposely top out a bit at the end of the straights, I found that the added acceleration made up for the loss in top speed in the lap times (at least for my B-Spec).

I had to use the higher top speed for my A-spec race because I needed more speed for the straights and it worked like a charm.

But for the B-spec race I did bump the top speed back down but only to 149 and I was doing laps between 1:38 and 1:39. I think I lucked out on the 5th lap or so because after I passed the Chaparral I think he hit the wall on the last turn and was no longer on my tail. Then I was able to pace my driver down a bit and kept his temper slightly above neutral. I ended up winning this race by at least 10 or 12 seconds.

Also, a big help in winning this race is having a driver who is level 15 or higher because he will still have some strength left for the last lap or 2. I had tried using one of my lower level driver but by the last lap he could barely drive the car.
