2nd logitech driving force gt wheel not functioning ps3

PS3: I have 2 logitech gt wheels and I can get either to work on it's own on Sega Rally Revo split screen, however the second wheel doesn't have anything other than a couple of buttons that work (look behind you, switch view)...no gas or brake, etc. So I know it's hooked up properly and both wheels are fully functional, maybe I have configuration issues (can you even configure controls on ps3?)...

Also tried on Ridge Racer 7, on that game I can get one or the other wheel to work fully but NO function at all on the 2nd wheel...it seems that one player can use a wheel but the other must use a controller.

I don't know what else to do...are these games not compatible with 2 wheels at the same time? And if not, does anyone know which games are?

Thanks in advance, Tracy

I don't think any of them are compatible with these games in split screen. Since the wheels are identical, unlike the PS3's bluetooth controllers which pair and are assigned a number, it's sending the same data to the PS3. I imagine if you could listen to what the PS3 is saying, it would be asking "What the hell is going on???".

So by that logic, if my second wheel was a different model or brand then it would work? I guess that makes sense on some level.

Is there a way to turn off the wireless controllers so it will simply identify controllers by port only? Or does the PS3 not function like that...? Say your wireless dualshock broke and you used 2 wired controllers instead. Would that not be identifying by port alone? (I don't have any wired controllers so I don't know)

Incidentally I just tried these NFS:Pro Street and both wheels do in fact work on that game. Don't much care for the game though...

I can't be the only guy out there to ever try a two wheel setup can I?

My 2 sons have wired controllers on their PS3, plugged into the USB. I have no Idea why it would be different for a wheel because its still a controller and still in the USB port.

If it's, for example, a sports game you would assign the controller in-game. Yes, the wheel is "still a controller", however how many racing games are there with split screen? I don't know of many off hand. And seeing how wheels are on the pricey side, it's reasonable to believe that the majority of racing games wouldn't support two wheels in split screen.

The only way to "turn off" the dual shock controllers is delete from your Bluetooth device profile. Which can be a pain, because then every time you would want to use the Dualshock you would have to re-sync it to the system.

Many games support controllers "in-game". Meaning that particular game has to support two controllers. Take Madden for instance. It supports more than one controller. So it will accommodate you there. As for a game like Sega Rally Revo, I'm thinking if you were to ask the programmers about this they may very well say "Gee, we never thought of that". Also consider that most racing occurs online. To be honest, this is the first time I've heard of someone wanting to use two wheels in split screen.

I wish I could be more help, but I'm kind of thrown for a loop here.
