This looks genuine based on the new screenshots plus that fact that it's German (with Gamescom a few days away).

Forza Motorsport 7: The new tracks
In addition to classics such as Le Mans or Daytona, there are also personal creations such as the Maple Valley course, which is particularly popular with fans, or complete new entries such as the Hafeet Mountain Pass. Turn 10 was enough change as important as a real challenge - as a student founder and "Forza 7" creative director Dan Greenawalt [COMPUTERBILD] in the interview said. "Curcuit of the Americas is very difficult to master, and is especially challenging at night," says the racing game specialist. "But also Suzuka - a great course in Japan - is frightening: everywhere are puddles, you have to fight right with the tax".

Forza Motorsport 7: Dynamic weather system
One particularly proud of Turn 10 is the new dynamic weather system - the icing on the cake of many routes. "During the day, there are many different weather conditions: it is bright, dusty, the clouds move, with them the light incident - and the player is blinded," says Greenawalt. "But at night and when it is wet, it gets really exciting: it is really dark and you can see almost only its headlights - you should be just as afraid, as in the real racing sport. Rain it, you have to pay attention where you are going along, while mist and spraying water hinder your visibility ". Whether Turn 10 is too much of a promise or you really expect the next top racer with "Forza Motorsport 7", you will find out in the test in early October.

This is in line with what I expected (and in my opinion is a good list):

  • Every location from Forza Motorsport 6.
  • Returning circuits mentioned at E3.
  • New "cover track" (Dubai).
I hope that no new locations are added as DLC or that if they are that all players could access them in Leagues/Hoppers/Rivals. FPS fans already know that paywalled DLC splits up the playerbase and I'd like to see racing games avoid going down that path.

By that same margin, how are you going to do expansions then? You already have Porsches out of the box, you'll probably have NASCAR as well, so that takes out two possible avenues. What else can you do to sell the two incoming expansions? Indycar?

Not excusing it, but....

I think car/career expansions are fine, Porsche/NASCAR were rather well-done in Forza Motorsport 6.

What I saw with the exclusive tracks however was that they were almost never used online, and the leaderboards for some of them only had a few dozen entries (compared to the quarter million on base layouts).

Gears of War 4 came up with an alternative: Season Pass users could use new maps offline and in private lobbies, but all players had access to them in matchmaking lobbies and competitive modes.

Forza Motorsport 5 had 2 free tracks (Nurburgring and Long Beach) so it's a possibility. I just don't like seeing tracks get paywalled as the base roster can get stale after a while and the paywalled ones usually have "dead lobbies" with not many people playing in them.

Can't agree more. I think 'only' 4 new tracks compared to FM6 is a bit disappointing (FM6 had 9 new tracks compared to FM5 after DLC) so I would like to see more tracks and I understand putting them in an expansion makes sense from a business point of view. But this should not split the user base. Therefore you should, as you point out, do it like Gears 4 and have all tracks available online for all players and in the offline modes only for the people who purchased them.

Free track DLC like Forza Motorsport 5 (there were 3 free tracks, also Road America besides Long Beach and Nürburgring) is not something I expect because that's when Turn10 was in damage repair mode and tried to make up for the lack of content on Day One.

So there's no mention of dynamic time of day, but the tracks can be seen at different times of day. My guess is that we can choose the time of day we want before the race in free play, while it will be random during career mode.

This most likely won't be available at all locations, but it is still better than nothing. Hopefully in Forza Motorsport 8 we'll have dynamic TOD, but I'm happy about rain and night at the same time, that's for damn sure!

Interesting bit from the Article: (Google translate) "While a majority of the racing cars are already ready for release in the virtual garage, manufacturers Microsoft and developer Turn 10 deliver part of it later via DLC."

What would they mean with 'part of it'? This sentence almost sounds like Turn10 haven't finished the game in time. Or a single division will be (paid) DLC, like Indycar for example. Alternatively (wishful thinking) it could be something like an IMSA car pack/expansion.

Or it just means that the rest will come with DLC. Google translate is not great with syntax and dialects, so it could mean something completely different in German the way it is written.

My German isn't the best, but I can understand this article (It's not too different from Dutch) and the way its translated by Google translate appears to be correct. But without the context of the race car list we just don't know what it means.

I'm glad that all FM6 tracks are going to stay, but I think the game needs at least three DLC tracks when only Dubai is genuinely new. The dynamic conditions will no doubt add something to make the locations feel fresh, but I really expected the long-rumoured Pacific Raceways to appear. Anyway, Suzuka, Mugello and Maple Valley should be welcome returns to this generation.

Wondering if it just means that there's going to be post-release support, and it's just worded incorrectly from them, or the translation.

"Racing cars" may not even refer to the proper racing machinery. I suppose they simply say that there will be DLC cars. We know the drill and I doubt FM7 will bring any surprises in this regard.

Could very well be indeed. But "Rennwagen" is definitely German for race car in the sense of a car dedicated for racing. Maybe something got lost in translation between Turn10 and Bild with Turn10 saying that there will be more "cars to race" in DLC.

They talk about the Forza 7 cars in general... Not specific real race cars :)

Already said, I know: we don't need 50 tracks, we need variety. Mugello, Suzuka, Mapple Valley and Dubai are all pretty fast tracks. There is a big discrepancy between the car roaster variety and the tracks.
(Still a 10x better track list than GTSport...)

So every track from FM6 is back I see... I kinda predicted that before this game was officially announced... I was expecting new real world circuits though... that's disappointing. At least we got old ones from Forza 4, I'm still happy about that.

I'm happy to see Maple Valley is back. I really liked that track. Hopefully it will still be available in both short and long forms.

I just hope with some of the older tracks returning, they AT LEAST made night and weather editions of those tracks.
Maple Valley already does, so it only makes sense that the others probably do too.

Think of it this way, they've waited from FM4 to FM7 to touch them up, so they might as well do the fancier stuff, right? As opposed to them being in FM5 but missing in FM6, they might already be XB1 quality and so they don't bother touching it to add weather either, if that makes sense.
