I saw a Civic with the orange line pack on Sunday. I thought someone had chaved up their brand new car.

I followed a grey one in slow traffic yesterday. Thought it was a Type R with the massive wing deleted at first. Those huge fake 'vents' in the rear bumper are really tacky. They're clearly fake from 20 yards away.

It grips rather well, as you’d expect for a car with a hot version 250% up on power,

Yep. 127hp x 250% = 317hp, which is curiously almost exactly what the Type R has.

Everything about this car is made largely redundant by the fact that it looks nothing short of alarming.

Still, could be worse. God help our eyes if you review the Civic Type R.
