Hey guys , i need some advice

i like to know if any of you are using the microsoft 360 wheel for drifting, if so , is it possible to be smooth , becourse many of the videos ive seen it looks very unsmooth while drifting , i was going to buy the new fanatec porsche wheel but it seems you have to pre order it on the fanatec site, which im not capeable of doing , so second choice were the 360 wheel

though it dosen't have a clutch thats fine , but are there a wheel thats better for xbox 360 ?

so please share you're wishdom :D

Im sorry if this isnt the right section , wasn't sure

Thanks in advance!

Other than the Fanatec wheel coming, the MS wheel on 360 is the ONLY option right now that has force feedback, so no...

No other wheels are gonna be better.

but the ms wheel is good quality?

Not really, I've only sort of played around with it and it didn't really wow me at all. Didn't feel cheap, but wasn't awesome either. I don't think I would buy one.

Really? I can't believe that, the wheel wasn't that good. I'd give it a 6/10 maybe. It works for what it does and what it is, but there are better wheels out there. Sadly those other wheels don't work with the 360, which is lame.

That´s just incredible... But surely it´s better then the Drive FX until the steering column get to loose.

I don´t really like it but if you can´t afford the fanatec wheel it´s the second best choice. The pedals are actually quite good if you put a half squashball behind the brake :)

i can afford the fanatec wheel , but im not too much a fan of ordering stuff outside of my country , but i might have to over come that if there is so much of a differance

The MS wheel is mediocre quality at best (I've owned 2). However, the videos you've seen with erradic drifting, is not down to the wheel, it's down to the average Forza players ability. I have had no problems stringing together smooth drifts without the all too often seen "wheel twitch". Just takes practice.

If you can wait a few months, I'd go with the Fanatec wheel (My Turbo S is on pre-order :sly:). If you can find a cheap MS wheel, go for it. Although, I'd wait if I were you.

;)

but isnt limited?

? Not sure what you mean? Care to clarify?

id really love it get one, but one thing delphic , did you pay in advance or do u pay when its shipped?

I pre-ordered, like most people. You can wait till the wheel is released in September if you don't like the idea of pre-ordering.

You only have two options. MS wheel, or Fanatec. You get what you pay for.

;)

as far as i read , its limited
http://www.fanatec.de/webshop/new_eu/index.php?cPath=21

but if its not, ill just buy it for September, but do you get it earlier if you pre order it.

Still not sure what you are referring to. I'll give it a shot regardless :dunce:

The Turbo S wheel works on the PS3/PC/Xbox 360 for all games that support a wheel. The only wheel that has limitations is the GT3 RS (The Orange one) or the original Turbo (they'll probably discontinue that model though). The GT3 RS only works on PC and some PS3 games.

I'm sure you do get it early if you pre-order. Also, if you order it before June 5th (Tomorrow!!!) you get a free copy of Forza 3 when it is released, saving you a potential $60 hole in your wallet.

Delphic reason he asked about if he payed in advance and if it´s limited as in there won´t be any more turbo S wheels when this batch sells out. Yes you do pay in advance I am afraid but you can of course still cancel the order and get a refund if you regret it later on. But they draw the money when you place the order. And Fanatec only sells through their web shop. It´s limited so there is a big chance there is noone left on this batch by september and there is no guarantees currently for new wheels with Xbox 360 support. Depends a bit what deal Fanatec got with MS I suppose the market should be there for a cheaper version anyway :)

We cleared it up through PM.

I have a strong inkling, yes.

With the 911 Turbo S wheel being shown in the Forza 3 booth at E3, it seems a bit strange they would kill off such a potential money maker for Fanatec, Microsoft, and Turn10 respectively.

There may be an initial dry up, but they will release them again.

Or....

separated into 3 different wheels. PC, PS3, Xbox 360, instead of having one do all.

Never had a problem with their support so yes. They maybe won´t give you a straight answer like BMW wouldn´t tell you if they have a new car model in making but you will get a reply I am sure :)

To the OP, If you are a casual driving/racing game player then the MS Wheel maybe the best choice for you. If you are looking to spend some quality time with driving titles then perhaps you should consider the Fanatec wheel in the future.

I also own an MS wheel and have previously owned the Logitech DriveFX wheel for the 360. I have also owned 4 versions of the Logitech Wheel for the PS2/PS3. IMO the MS Wheel sits comfortably ahead of the DriveFX wheel in terms of feel/ffb, well the DriveFX doesn't have any FFB 👎 Personally I think the MS Wheel is a great wheel, I really do like the feel it gives me with games like Race Pro. I actually played Race Pro for an entire week with the MS Wheel and then went back to GT5P with the G25 and I was able to beat my fastest lap times by up to a second 👍

There are a few issues I do have with the MS Wheel, the first being there is no 900 Degree option. Also the wheel has been designed so that it can rest on a lap, as a result when mounting the wheel on a flat surface it doesn't sit flush.
