They are doing this to keep some of the content “under wraps”, I guarantee it.
No point having everything unlocked within a few months, and then people stop playing the game and waiting to be spoon fed is probably what Turn 10 are thinking

I also wouldn't doubt if this is a "rewind" to give something to players who are just getting the game for Christmas.

You might have picked up my cars, since I sold all three week 1 cars in the AH, and all went in just a few minutes. Also, nice to see my pic of the Falcon used for the news article. I am rather fond of that one.

Turn 10 is creating an arbitrary “rarity” through repeating SD cars.

“What if I don’t want to wait multiple months for the car I want that has been locked away since the game’s release?”
