This Week's Theme
This week's theme is "日本にレ・マン (ni-hon ni le・man)", or "Japan at Le Mans". It comes to us care of Week 06 winner @AlexSinclair. I'll let Alex explain:

"Japanese cars have somewhat of a curse at the historic track, but I want to see your best shots of them in all their glory."

CARS: Race cars from Japan
LIVERIES: Has to at least include numbers on the side of the car (You can easily apply these in Racing Items)
LOCATIONS: Only Le Mans
SCAPES: Yes, exclusively
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: If you are panning, you must position the car so that it is travelling in the direction of the racing circuit. If the car is still, you may position it whatever way you like. I understand that this is a difficult one, so if your car is positioned the wrong way around, I'll correct you before the deadline.

  • The only way you can take part is to be a member of the GTPlanet forums. If you haven't created your account yet, click here.
  • It is recommended you host your image either here on GTPlanet (via the Media section), or on Flickr.
  • Not sure how to submit your image? Here's a guide for both methods mentioned above.
  • Preview images can not exceed 640 pixels in either direction.
  • A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
  • Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it;
    it makes poll creation much easier!
  • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.

  • No post-game editing, besides proportional resizing and rotating, is allowed.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.

  • You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and
    either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.

Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.3

Three Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.3 Race Cars with Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car Paint...

For this entry, I decided to do three of 7 replica liveries of the Mistubishi FTO Super Touring Car applied on to 7 Misubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.3 Race Cars I bought from Brand Central for 450,000 Cr. each. THese liveries were from Mistubishi FTO Super Touring Car. #1 is Green, #3 is White and #7 is Red like on the car they were replicated from. If Gran Turismo introduced a Gr.2 Class of cars, this might as well be one of them but with less horsepower.

FINAL ENTRY

Mulsane action by MAD_mires, on Flickr

Thought of an action shot at Virage de Mulsanne, where both Toyota Hybrids T030 (in front) and T050 passing by a driver in the NSX, who ran wide to the grass and slid as letting those two go.

Maybe there will be some correction in the shot till the deadline, but I'll announce it if it happens.​
 
If I upload my pictures to the GT website. Are they heavily compressed? Too lazy to upload via USB :D
 
I was hoping for a LeMans theme, as I just watched the LeMans series on amazon prime the last days (Really recommend it to all of you) :)

And congrats on the win btw. Great pic Alex!

I was worried it might be too narrow to do both Japanese cars and Le Mans, but I always found that the harder these challenges were, the more rewarding it was when you got it right.

As for my pic, the trick is to use other cars for lighting. I set that up with a Porsche 919 and an Alpine VGT off camera with their headlights fully on. The 919 has great lights, so I used that to illuminate the side of the car here. The Alpine made the blue trail at the back and lit the ground behind the car. I normally use this technique for still shots, and use cars as studio lights, but I thought the effect here with the panning worked really well so I stuck with that as my choice, and I guess it paid off. Thanks for your kind words!

Now thats a neat trick! Ive done something similar with one shot before, but never intentional like you did! 👍
And I like themes that are very specific. I just need to grind some money to buy me a japanese Gr.1 car. Or I'll go with a Gr.3 too :cheers:
 
For the first time i have a suitable picture in my gallery. Not the best, but delightfully easy entry. :lol: Will upload later..
