More New Paint Colors in This Week's GT Sport Mileage Exchange

The thing with the R1 Dark Candy Met. is properly weird.

An R1 Dark Candy Met. paint chip appeared in Week 13 (five weeks ago), and I bought it - I checked, and it's right there in my Livery Editor. But this week's R1 Dark Candy Met. chip doesn't have a blue tick.

Looking at it, the Week 13 chip was more red, and this week's is more purple. So I bought it and it creates a new entry in the Livery Editor... in a different place - it's about eight chips downstream, with the purple Darks...

So there's two R1 Dark Candy Met. chips and colors...

Is today's chip more purple-red or red-purple? If it is more purple-red, them maybe it is supposed to be called P1 Dark Candy Met., but the name has a typo.

It would still show up as bought then, as P1 Dark Candy Met. appeared in Week 3 :D However, P1DCM is an indigo (blue-purple) colour, while the new R1DCM is way more like purple.

It's definitely more purple-red, but it appears between R1 Dark Flakes L and R2 Dark Flakes S. The original appears between R1 Dark Flakes S and O1 Dark Flakes L, 22 places to the left. P1 Dark Candy Met is between P1 Dark Flakes L and P2 Dark Flakes S.

I don't have GTS yet, but the fact 'paint chips' or colors are prizes makes me doubt getting it until some massive update.

Think of it as a lateral step from GT6. On one hand, you can now create custom paint hues in the editor — as you've been able to in most of the competition for a decade or so. However, you only have access to normal, metallic, and pearl finishes there (and the black isn't black). If you want to recreate a manufacturer colour, you can; well, so long as PD has decided to provide the chip in the Mileage Exchange, because buying a car doesn't give you it a la GT5/GT6.

The Mileage Exchange is definitely one of the more "gamey" aspects of GT Sport. It's a bit like the login bonus last generation, in that it encourages players to revisit the game regularly to pick up content. The issue that I imagine some folks have with it — just as they do across town with Forza 7 and its questionable Specialty Dealer — is that it feels forced, an intentional stringing-along of content that has been available via more traditional means in past games.

You can paint your car the color you want in GT Sport, regardless of paint chips. ;)

Edit: Hey @SlipZtrEm, only now that I've seen your post above...:embarrassed:

I think they need a better paint editor in gts. Can't get the right colours especially in yellow and blue.

Please go paint me Mustang GT in Grabber Blue as I'm unable to reproduce this color and want Mustang in that color. Bonus points if you make it with the gradient gray stripes on the bonnet as the one form the special blue edition for the MY2017. I'm waiting for the yas marina blue chip as this is the closest color in the game.

My answer was to say that paint chips is not the only way to paint a car in GT Sport.
Now, if we are capable to reproduce "X" color, it's another story...

Are you aware of the “rainbow” parameters ? Some people just dont know there are thousands of colors to chose from instead of only 50 what people think. They are just “example” colors.

You can look on internet for specific colour codes and duplicate the parameters in GTS. It is that way I found some Ferrari red colors I needed and implement them into the game.
