Here's How to Score GT Sport's Platinum Trophy

A good write up and explains some of the weird trophy awards that I've seen pop up.

(The "Right on Time" trophy is a lot easier to get now that they've dropped the 2 second penalties for contact. A shame really as I actually preferred the old version.)

I have a problem, I did more than 800 KM on Northern Isle Speedway with a Tomahawk X (500 miles aproximately) and there was no trophy, I'm kinda disappointed...

What? Compared to, everyone gets a Platinum trophy! Yay! You get a Platinum, you get a Platinum...

It's figuring out the hidden ones that are a pain, not doing the work.

Figuring out the hidden ones? You know you can see them by pressing square right?

Most of the trophies are fairly easy, with the exception of the Sport mode podiums and wins. The reason the Platinum is difficult is because of the GRIND that is require for level 50. Platinum's in racing games are some of the rarest in gaming, GT5 is a 0.1%, along with AC and DiRT Rally, where most casual games are around the 1% or greater rate. For me, those racing games are a challenge because they're difficult, GT Sport is a challenge because of the time required...

When you enter a random Sport lobby without setting a qualifying, because you don't have all day to sit around waiting for 15 minutes for a race to start, and you go from last to the top 5 and only get 170XP, yeah, it's a stupidly long grind. Yes, there are faster ways to earn XP, but many require grinding a race over and over with a very specific set of settings for a custom race, that still don't reward you enough for your time.

I'm kind of a trophy guy but this time I'm more interested in getting the in-game achievements as they give actual rewards to use in the game.
Right now I'm grinding my way to get those 15 consecutive clean Sport races. I have 11 so far.

@Ben Rogue, guess I meant, hidden ones from previous GT titles. Like, park a Honda in front of the Honda building at Tokyo and take a picture… (
I think that was a hidden one). These trophies are too easy to obtain, in my opinion.

Especially now, cause you can just Internet it and learn what to do…

As a bit of a trophy hunter I am going for the Platinum, generally, it's pretty straightforward and more grind than hard but if you can get near the 91 wins you'll have everything else by then in all likelihood (including level 50 with some spamming of the big money/xp events) The 91 wins is a rather silly one though, much like the 64 pole positions, because this is largely the preserve of the very best drivers or those who are willing to do 500+ sport mode races For me I like a challenge and this would sit nicely next to my other racing Platinums like Dirt Rally, Dirt 4, Project Cars and Driveclub.

Of those the Dirt Rally one would be most difficult, by some distance

Honestly, only the Sport Mode wins/poles positions are the difficult ones. But with the guy keeping his DR low is much more a matter of time. A long time for sure.
The rest is achieved either through natural progress in the game, or super easy tasks.

The level 50 one is also gonna take a looooong time. But if we consider the lifetime of each GT game (GT6 is what? 5 years old now?! 2013 I guess?) and think how long it’ll take untill we see and move unto another GT game, we realize we have lots of time to do it too. Which is ok I’d say.

However, these things I say for the GT fan. The guy that plays GT everyday and play it out most of his gaming time. I mean, more than any other game the guy may like/have. On the other hand for the trophy hunter it’s a nightmare because this kind of player (usually) wants to play the game, plat the game, and move on as quickly as possible. And one thing GTS is not, is a fast platinum trophy.

So is it basically worth nothing to set automatic driver to complete 12h-24h endurances online? It's popular at least. Many of them are titled as "mileage boost" or so...
How much XP/$$$ do you get? I wouldn't expect much without player count multiplier.
P.S. GT Sport 24h straight is Ps4 torture, high prize for platinum trophy.

It took me 214 wins on Bluemoon with N300 vs N1000 to get the remaining 1.6 million xp to get to lvl 50.
At just under 12 minutes per race for 8250 xp (with clean race bonus) That was nearly 43 hours of driving in circles.

I was up to 983 sport races when I got the trophy on Jan 31st. Currently I'm at 1817 sport races and made an additional 340k xp from that according to Kudos Prime. So an average of 407 xp per sport race... Actually a little less as there are a few of the new GT League events included in that.

To get the full 2.4 million on sport races alone I would need to do about 6000 sport races!
I'll probably get there at the rate I'm going...

Gran Turism SPORT Platinum.jpg A great way for the trophy to pop. Win, pole and fastest lap ;-)

A few tips. Invest in a rubber band and let the the Mazda sports car be your friend at Blue Moon Bay ;-) Grinding to get to level fifty just seems to take fore ever - because it does >:-(

Also what to do with all the extra money earned as there is the 20million cap. Bank the money. Keep buying the most expensive car in the game - the Lambourghini Venetron at 3.6mil. Then when DLC lobs you can sell them (at 1/3 buy price) and buy all the new cars. I usually have somewhere from 20-30 of these things tucked away. At this point in time there seems to be no garage limit and besides I have so many multiple cars I am sick of deleting them.

Another tip for winning sports races is to find a time of day when most of the "aliens" are not on in your region. I am by no means the fastest guy out there and I am usually 2 seconds off the Alien best time and have *never* been in the top 10 (probably the top 100). Also I found you need to "sand bag" when you win races. Keep your winning margin under 10 seconds as you can then start to get matched with some really fast people :-( Example: I was on pole at Monza by justover two seconds and won a race by over 24 seconds, the next race I was grouped with guys 2 seconds a lap faster and was mid field :-(

Match making (and hence poles) is just like going to the Casino. You never know where you will be. But having said that if you can set a reasonable qualifying time (eg 2 seconds off region fastest) and pick a time of day when you get matched with normal people (or kids on hand controllers) you have a much better chance. It only then comes down to getting through turn one without being smashed off the track by some moron who has no idea how to drive. Also this can be advantageous (believe it or not) **IF** you can get through turn 1 without being hit generally everyone else will have the pile up and you get the easy win ;-) This is my biggest piece of advice for Sport Races - Don't get hit at turn 1. Keep your eyes glued to the rear vision mirror and avoid the idiot from 3 rows back that recons he can out brake the guy on pole ;-)

I hope some of this helps. BTW I never believed I could get the Platinum in this game, it seemed just too hard. I have the Platinums for G5/6, Pcars 1+2, Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally, this has been the hardest only because of the online component of Sport Races where it is basically the luck of the draw (literally) and relying on other people knowing how to drive and so you have NO control over your destiny and it turns the whole thing into one massive, tedious grind.

This Platinum grind could be considered "cruel and unusual punishment". Hopefully I'll be able to achieve level 50 before they shut the servers down in the next decade! :banghead:
If you're at level zero and do one Premium Sports Lounge/Blue Moon Bay race every day* in the XBow, you'll hit Level 50 on Christmas Eve.

Have fun :D

*Which you can't do until you're level 20, but who's counting?

Need to hit Level 50 to have all the trophies outside Sport mode.

Can't see me ever getting those. Once you reach a level on par with your abilities it's next to impossible to rack up so many poles and wins.

The pit glitch doesn't exist any more...
Glitch??? Who said anything about glitching

120,000,000 credits to spend .. all cars bought ...no gift cars...

On November 13th there were three ways to earn XP quickly.

The slowest of those three was the custom 24hr endurance. You could get loads of XP, but it took 24hr. 64,000XP was possible - or just over 2,500 an hour.

Second slowest was the N100 N24 single lap endurance. With clean race bonus you could score 2,250XP in eleven minutes. That's just over 12,000XP an hour.

That's all fine, but Level 50 takes a whole load of XP. The former method would need 37.5 days of nonstop driving - and there weren't 37.5 days between the launch on October 18th and November 13th. Even if you were playing a review copy (as, helpfully, the servers were off).

The second method is far quicker but still needs around 215 hours to complete. In order to get from 0-50 by November 13th you'd need to run this for 8 hours a day, every day, from the moment the game launched. Only you couldn't, because you'd need to reach level 20 first to unlock the N24 track, taking up a few extra hours. I'm not one to judge other people's lives, but I wish I'd had the kind of spare time when I was 38 to play Gran Turismo for 8 hours a day for four weeks straight.

Fortunately there was one quicker way. The pitlane glitch gave exactly the same rewards as the second method, but in 45 seconds. You could hit level 50 in just 13 hours.

Boy, you went from "what glitch" to "well everyone else cheats" pretty fast there.

And not for the first time either.

That was a very good article @Famine enjoyed reading it.

I had a nice paragraph long response to your opinion, but just decided it's not worth it. Good luck.

Play the game often and good enough and you'll be rewarded with trophys.

Right on...

Thing is, if you're good enough... l certainly have not been since GT '94. Just driving cars... some I'll never lay eyes on... but I'll keep trying as long as

Oh, no offline... nvrmnd

I'm about to reach Level 49 and I got all the other trophies. So 1 more level to get the platinum trophy. That's a lot of boring work to get there...

For those who struggles for the Wins, FLs and Poles, my friend took a random Sport Race and crashed in everyone till he drops to the lowest ratings. To that point, it was easy for him to get the trophies. BUT DON'T DO IT!!! You can also reach a poor DR and SR rating by quiting the races.

DO NOT do this!!!! It is NOT nice to harm inocent people. IF you want to drop levels all you have to do is start Sport races and just quit. This will hurt your DR and SR while not hurting anyone else trying to enjoy their game. We do need any more a**holes in this game running into people.

Also for anyone intending to deliberately ram people there is the report player option available so hopefully people will get banned.

I didn't do it. But yeah I didn't know quitting Sport races was dropping the level since I never did it. Knowing that, it's a way better tip and I'll edit my message.

I want that platinum. I'm already at level 50. My issue is the online wins. I'm only on 41 and that's not even half way there. And since my SR went up to S, I have more chance of getting to the moon on a pogo stick than winning anymore races....

I agree, getting to level 50 is a grind. I don't understand why you'd only get about 170xp per daily race.
Luckily GT league offers some more xp per event but the AI is so bad I really don't like playing them.
To get to level 50 you need about 2.3 million xp, which is a lot. It's ridiculous.

All other trophies are easy peasy imo.
Got the pole and win trophies within 120 races by lowering my rank (by quitting, not by ramming).
Been happily racing in B/S ever since I got them and managed to get about 8 wins legit. Feels good.
