This Week’s Forza Horizon 4 Seasonal Change: Snow, a Ferrari Wagon and a Classic Lambo

The Jarama is very cool. It's always great when Forza enables people to experience those rare cars from the past no other developer was going to include. Too bad the Jalpa was left out of FH4's default car list, which I'd take any day over some roofless Aventador.

The GTC4Lusso is one of my favourite cars so I'm glad it's in the game for winter! I'll be taking it out for a photo shoot at some point. 👍

Really glad they added the Lusso. However, it has three problems in my opinion.
  1. Engine sound, it sounds nothing like the raw v12 it should have. The FF, F12 and 599 V12s do have decent a engine sound.
  2. They should have added the Panoramic glass roof. Witch is a £11000,- option in real life.
  3. They have chosen the most boring Ferrari rims.

While examining the Jarama's interior I found a rather amusing (or alarming) legend on the dashboard: "CLOSE WINDOWS BEFORE REACHING 140 M.P.H." :odd: And the lack of glovebox is hilarious (come to think of it the available trunk space makes it a fine glovebox...) Ergonomics were funny back in the day!

Yeah the lack of the panoramic roof is kinda a drawback for me. Would be great if they also added the Portofino to the game. Hopefully the roof will be down unlike the one on the 650S Spider which is permanently up. Wondering if they'll ever give us the option to open or close the convertibles while freeroaming.

Did someone from Playground recently say they were implementing the option to open or close the roof before leaving the garage, or did I imagine that?

No idea, you could be right though, the roof opening animation for the 650S is already in the game, sadly you can use it only in Forzavista. Technically the animations for the convertibles have already been in FH3, you can find videos on YouTube where people played the Developer version of the game which had these animations working in freeroam.

You imagined it. They acknowledged that players would like such a feature, but never said it is planned for future updates. They did say the 650S Spider will have the roof down by default in the next update.

Well that sucks. It does tell me that I should probably play the game a little less though

I think the issues is with the LOD models. To save on performance the game switches the cars to a lower Level of Detail model of the car based on distance from the camera. Those Lower detail LOD models are likely not built with both roof positions. So you would see the roofs disappear or reappear when the cars cross the LOD switch distance.

If they're smart they'll be developing their assets to have the lower LOD models generated automatically from the higher detail ones, but who knows what their process is. It could just be down to something as simple as licensing!
