Well, iRacing will never even be more than a small fraction of that but I still like it a whole lot more. Besides, I'd have to buy a PS4 to play GT and it's not compelling enough to make me do that. Oh well, looks like it has decent online for sure.
Still hoping Forza race regulations (when/if they arrive) will get me interested enough to return to some Forza. Guess we'll see.
I wanna know how many copies sold.
Yea how many active omlonl though, trying to get a room on GT sport is difficult, loads of rooms with one or two Racers, you get a choice of around 40 rooms, most filled as I stated, with 1 to 3 Racers, it's very false advertising the above headlone.
Possibly, just so disappointed, only time I have fell out of love with GT, love racing in it to be fair, just sad it's not reached the hieghts we expect es for this edition, on the upside, all the content of new road Cars is ace, and they have still kept up the usual regular free updates,No, it's not: it would be false advertising if it said 6.6 million active players.
To be fair, you can't blame PD for the 6.6 million players not actually playing the game
I believe 6m (or thereabouts) is more than GT6. The game still has at least one more year of official support and the potential for major growth with the increased efforts and profile of the forthcoming FIA season. PS4 will also still be a major seller into ‘20, ‘21, so I would think 8m+ is a very realistic lifetime total for GTS.Possibly, just so disappointed, only time I have fell out of love with GT, love racing in it to be fair, just sad it's not reached the hieghts we expect es for this edition, on the upside, all the content of new road Cars is ace, and they have still kept up the usual regular free updates,
Also the calculation format is extremely questionable!
Also if it's not active players, 6 million for is
poor for the GT series, it's definitely lost a lot of appeal, great idea and I can't work out why it didn't continue on the success of previous titles, p.s I love the game, still a fan, just wish more where of this title.
I’ve personally clocked up over 1500 hours in the game and only been in lobbies a handful of times. For me the interest is in Sport mode/FIA events and the GT League. Being ranked, and depending on time of day, it only makes sense you’re matched against similar drivers. What is interesting to me is a number of high profile sim racers from other titles are now coming in as the FIA events are about to kick off. Some more interesting stats would be average number of players online at any given time.
When I play sport mode, I end up in rooms with the same people over and over again.
When I search online lobbies, most lobbies have all of 1 person in them, and those with more than 1 are usually Tomahawk and VGT anarchy.
To me, how much a game sells is irrelevent. The stats that matter to me are those regarding the activity of the community - and for what was once the premier racing title, and is the only GT on PS4, this game feels really dead on a day to day basis.
When it is given away as a Plus freeby?10 mill when?
6.6 million is a too low estimate. The game was 6.34 million users in early october 2018 and this data was directly extracted from the gran-turismo.com servers

with the huge increase of users of the last months of the year now the game there will be around 7.5 million users or more

I'd definitely participate in the FIA events if I had PS+ or if online was made free.6.6 million players, but what are they actually doing with the game. A random look at a recent FIA Manufacturer Championship shows around 2400 entrants in the North American region. For me it’s been VR experience and GT League.
Anecdotally I'd like to point out that GTS was the #1 selling PS4 racing game on gamestop.com for a very long time. The Crew 2 is beating it now because its on sale for $14.99 once that sale ends GTS will reclaim its place as #1 selling PS4 racer on that particular site. I would have to imagine that GTS is the #1 seller in the racing category month after month world wide on PS4. According to PS5 rumors its widely speculat3d that PS5 will run all PS4 games with enhancements like PS4 Pro. Basically GTS will keep selling even after PS5 launch and will sell consistently until the next GT is released on PS5. This game is going to see a lot more then just 2 million more sales. If you look at Kudosprime GTS added around 600k accounts in December and first week of January. Obviously the result of Christmas and January sales.

On average GTS is adding around 50k accounts per week, so 250k per month. IMO the regular updates and FIA events have done a decent job keeping the title in the spotlight. The latter in particular has a decent chance to really break through in 2019 and establish GTS in the E-Sports community.
As I mentioned above I think GTS will add another 2m sales from the remainder of this gen. The PS4 userbase is so huge, with millions of new owners, it only takes a small percentage to buy. Let’s be honest, there aren’t many racing options, particularly those leaning towards sim. Also mentioned above, it would be great to add GTS to PS+ in the latter part of ‘19, or early ‘20. Those are the type of users who will use microtransactions as a timesaver.
MS do focus on Monthly Active Users (MAU) for the system as a whole. Last I read MS had 52m, Sony over 90m. When it comes to individual titles they report total users. So if someone samples a game for 10 minutes on GamePass, they’re added to the total.
I'd definitely participate in the FIA events if I had PS+ or if online was made free.
The thing is though, I'm broke and I don't have job.Come on man it's $70. A year. Gaming is an extremely cheap hobby unless you constantly game hop, i've spent a total of $130 for the year to play 3 to 4 nights a week (game and PS+), that's less than a dinner for two at a crappy chain restaurant.
This data probably account Beta Only profiles that are around 620k today.6.6 million is an estimate too low. The game was 6.34 million users in early october 2018 and this data was directly extracted from the gran-turismo.com servers

This data probably account Beta Only profiles that are around 620k today.
The extraction has a status tag that 1 means GTS final game profile and 2 means Bea only... these Beta only never played the final game.
The game had 6.23m profiles in December 2018 so 6.34m in October only if included Beta profiles.
Below the full extraction on several dates.
