Netflix's The Gentleman Driver: How the Amateurs Make Motorsport Unique

Netflix in Australia has "The Gentleman Driver". Looks to be the same one. Sure you got the name right? Unless they have regionalised it...

There a currently 11 user reviews for this on the IMDB - ALL of them are fake (generic-name, sole-entry praisers). Paid user-reviewers have completely ruined IMDB's once decent rep.

Should point out that the documentary isn't produced by Netflix.

Watched it after getting back from this year's Bathurst 12 Hour, just so happened to get a photo with Paul Dalla Lana (from the documentary) and Hindy himself!

GentlemanDrivers are like ProRacingDrivers. Some of them has done more to Motorsport than any Pro ever does. This isnt something new. Even in the 70s and 80s a lot of GentlemanDrivers raced the sickest cars like the Turbopanzer from Porsche. Herbert Müller was one of those and he won the Interseries on the Nürburgring. It has a lot of well talented GentlemanDrivers in the world and also bad ones, the same goes for the ProDrivers.

I finished watching it today on the way to work. It wasn't anything new tbh, but it was good to see which kind of business they run and why they choose to partake in racing instead of owning an franchise in another sport and try to have profit while sitting on chairs and just making a few decisions...

Also, the part of Ricardo racing, keeping up with his work at Arkansas University, keeping up with the construction of the mexican campus and doing everything to promote and get the WEC to go to Mexico was really good. Shows how passionate he is about racing and about his country. Hopefully everything on the campus end goes according to plan because that's gonna be a great legacy he will leave behind.
