A second, much larger group of people: we want more performance out of the small crossover that provides you, Hyundai, with higher margins!

Besides, there’s still the N flagship to come. Biermann didn’t say much about it when I talked to him, so it may not be a front-engined, rear-drive V8, but the brand is on good form so far, so I’m optimistic.

It's like M all over again. Just let diesel crossovers be diesel crossovers. You cheapen the brand if it's plastered over everything.

Why they're debuting this in Europe I'm not sure, because the US is obsessed with crossovers. There aren't many performance crossovers here, mostly from the German brands, so this Hyundai will be a pretty unique offering.

I think "car people" tend to forget that "car people" don't buy very many cars. Normal people buy a lot of cars, and V8 coupes is not what they're buying. They're buying crossovers.
