MINI Adds John Cooper Works Power to Clubman and Countryman

I'm disappointed this isn't going into the standard Cooper S, but I'm guessing it'd end up torque steering into a tree.

Any chance these will become available in the USA?
Car and Driver says "late summer" for the States. I imagine Canada will get these too.

This kind of power should make the Clubman and Countryman decent enough competitors to the 35 series Mercedes-AMGs. If they gave Clubman 400 horsepower not only would they have the closest thing to a real version of their VGT.

Maybe the GP version will get this engine. If the standard Cooper ends up getting it they probably would add all wheel drive, especially if they wanted to make an AMG A35 competitor.

I find the Clubman to be the most acceptable looking current Mini, to damn it with feint praise. At least this one is quick.

"The new engine drives all four wheels through the standard ALL4 AWD system ....."
