Forza Horizon 4 Season Change: Aviation Hits The Autumn Trail

I am impressed with the Napier! I absolutely love it. The feel, the 3-speed transmission, the brutal sound(although I'm sure it's just the Veyron's sound with a bit of editing) and the fact that they actually modeled the rear brake-only physics. Turn off the ABS for maximum fun. You gotta brake early to give time to those tiny rear brakes to stop that monster, while being careful not to press on it too hard or you will lock them.

This car provides the dynamic driving experience that I love, unlike all modern cars that feel the same. I wish sim wheels and pedals would come with hand throttle, spark advance levers and swapping pedals to better simulate car like this.

Nice to see the Napier Railton being included in a game!

To those who might be interested in extra info - Although the Napier Lion engine was sometimes called a W12, it is more accurate to refer to it as a broad arrow twelve, i.e. it has three banks of cylinders (imagine a slightly flattened V8 with an extra bank of cylinders running down the centre). The VW W8, W12 and Bugatti W16 layouts have four banks of cylinders (albeit with a very narrow included angle between two of the vees).

The Napier Railton holds the Brooklands outer circuit absolute lap record at 143.44 mph average and after being taken to Utah, Cobb was able to establish numerous endurance records up to and including the 24 hour record - sadly he perished in his jet powered boat "Crusader" in 1952.

A thinly disguised version of Cobbs Napier Railton was used in the 1951 film "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman" - note how the rev counter was replaced with a speedo!
