DIRT 5 Multiplayer Modes Revealed: King, Vampire, Transporter

Featured in the game are various party modes, involving events such as smashing wooden targets ("Invasion"), spreading a zombie infection ("Outbreak"), and a capture the flag-like game mode ("Transporter").

DiRT 3, released 1 year before Forza Horizon (1).

“King” or “tag” has been in quite a few racing games; I don’t remember the first to do it though (maybe Forza Motorsport 2?).

Cost of Dirt5 in the UK PSN Store is £74.99 which includes the PS5 Upgrade. It also includes PS4 PRO Enchanced Graphics. So for £74.99 plus with the Season Pass for the PS4 PRO and PS5 that does work out good value? Is Grid having a PS5 Upgrade too? Be good to have DIRT4, Grid, Project Cars 2 and Project Cars 3 and DIRT5 for PS5. Just a thought but imagine Project Cars 2 on PS5  Then with all the Codemasters/SMS main titles all made for PS5 Racers have a good collection.

Not aware of any specific upgrades, other than the console itself being able to handle the game better.

Likewise, there won't be a "next gen patch" for DiRT Rally 2.0.

That being said, both games should be backwards compatible so if you own them on PS4 you can play on PS5 :)

Its a good deal considering you get the pass with it. But I'd advise you to outright buy it on the PS5 from the get-go. Most games on the PS4 cross save with PS5, but Dirt 5 is one of the few games that doesn't. If you own the PS4 version, all stadiums you create and submit will transfer over to the PS5, but your in-game save progress will not. You'll own the game on both platforms, but will have two separate save instances, even if using the same PSN for both consoles. Not sure why this is the way it is, because the Xbox version doesn't have the same issue.

If that doesn't matter to you, then I'd say go for the £74.99 deal. 👍

Kind of wish that racing games would include more "party modes" that don't require vehicle contact as the core incentive. Playing these modes in Forza and The Crew, it often feels futile to try and make contact with your targets unless you have a vehicle that's blatantly better than the competition. Simply trying to hit a moving target with another moving target is trouble enough when it isn't trying to actively evade you.

Dirt in particular could benefit from a competitive Hoonigan game type that can be played on an individual or team basis.
