How are the scores for the different events determined?

It's all about style. Lap times are not taken into account. In the solo drift, for a high score, you need to have the car sliding for the whole lap, even on the straights. You lose points if you spin the car, so the idea is to look as out of control as possible without actually losing it. Smoke and noise are taken into account too. A technique that I use is to start really smoking the tyres mid-drift, half way through a corner.

whoever judges, keep this in mind. this was taken from autospeed.com, and is how the real drift competition are judged. speed is meaningless in drift, lap times mean bust. whoever makes you say "oooohhhh ahhhhh" the most is the winner.

Let me just remind you guys that Drift260Z no longer has any affiliation with Monkey D. He was kicked off the team. Just to make that clear.:D

can you judge LanEvo??:D

Okay, here are how the points count:

Angle - 10 points
Style - 5 points
Control - 5 points
Smoke - 2 points

Out of those maximum points, the judges will decide how the entry is overall. Please post your scoring and the total in this thread and then I'll average them out to see who's the winner.

Happy judging!

bustwave., how are we gonna get the videos?

Ok, I gotta say something. I wasn't before but I think the points system is faulty. Control is what drifting is all about but yet it's only worth 5 points. It should be worth 10 IMO.

lets go i wanna see some sim drifting,by the way, what was ur lap time at Tokyo II bustwave

2 minutes 15, but i dont think it really matters..

lap times=null ;) if you think drifting is a reason to go faster, you've seen initial d too many times. the real drifters drift only for show, the real lap time record setters do NOT drift.
