4493 3d Marks, from a 2.4gig?

I've recently upgraded my computer from PIII 1gig to P4 2.4 power, and I'm stumped as to why my 3d Marks are so low (only 1.5k higher than my P3). Dad has a P4 2.0 and gets over 10k.

Anybody help?

P.S = Dad has a Geforce 4 Ti4200, whereas I have a Geforce 4 440MX

Additional = I used 3dMark 2001

You 3d card is holding you back. The 440MX isn't all that good. Steal your dad's card!!

I have a 440mx and I think it's a crap card. Especially the nv17 chip that disables you from using TVtool

Ok. I've downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia and have now got a score of 5011, so the drivers definatly did help, but it still seems very poor.

As GTJugend said.. Steal your dads 5200, or go out and pink up a used GF4-4200 or above.... Do NOT, repeat NOT, buy anything that says MX....

GeForce 4 MX cards are just GeForce 2 GTS cards... That's why you get low scores.
